Scrolling to the far right past the home screen card introduces a whole new bug for 9.2 where if you pull the home screen card to the left side of the screen and tap on it with another finger or press the home button, it jumps in from the opposite side.

I don't really think it's a bug as otherwise it'd have been fixed like the stutter in the switcher we had before Beta 3. It's more like a new animation I believe.
And it's not a practical use case imo as no one would use two fingers for browsing through cards in the App Switcher. They introduced Reachability just to avoid users having to use two hands and I don't think they'd undo that.

Actually they haven't 3 times. 2 times in store and 1 time over the phone. They all said the logs didn't show any issues and that any issues would be fixed in a future iOS update.

Also I probably will take your advice of selling it. This is getting ridiculous.
Who knows what may or may not be wrong with your particular iPhone but don't look for a fix with BETA software. If it's a truly a show stopping, life altering experience then of course sell it immediately. Then go out and buy one of those Marshmallow phones. Hopefully you'll be happy!

So this still happens, but it's the first time I'm seeing this in person. I only heard about it on this forum. I have no clue what causes it but restarting fixed the problem.

Turning on Reduce Transparency and then turning it off is what causes it. One way to fix it without having to restart is to turn on RT, do the pull down on Spotlight, and then turn RT off.

Oh that's weird, but now I know! Thanks for then solution suggests :)

I really can't describe how bad I think the scrolling behavior in the app switcher has become. It looks awful.. The smoothness is totally gone, now it kinda jumps between switchercards.. In my opinion it's a big step back..

Do you have reduced motion on? And what device? Because I've noticed a bug where the app switcher works worse with reduced motion on. IPad Air 2 and iPhone 6+.

This beta 4 has been awful for my 6s plus.

Battery drain, no ability to stream music over cellular etc.

This is without touching the "Reduce Motion" option, so it's off. If you scroll towards the home screen card it will be very very fast and almost jump right to home screen. Compared to iOS 9.1 which takes longer but seems a lot more smooth.

[MOD NOTE]
I think the lagging/stuttering topic has been beaten to death. Please move on to other issues related to iOS 9.2 Beta 4. No good will come of the continued back and forth on the lagging discussion and it will only derail this thread further.

I could read the Mod's post if I actually saw it but I haven't.

Hopefully that helps you see it and stop trying to drag this thread there.

Ok beta 4 feels way more responsive on my 5C. Cant't really comment on battery as of yet, since I've just updated. What do the rest of you reckon, especially those with older phones like myself when compared to 9.1?

Battery still seems an issue, although I'm in the middle of a calibration, given that it works at all (allowing phone to drain completely until it shuts off, charging it completely and allowing it 2h after 100% before unplugging and repeating the process). I'm experiencing things like going from 25% to 20% just by opening the guardian app... NOT normal....

After using beta 4 for past couple days on an Air 2, don't really seen any changes good or bad from beta 3. Performance is about the same.

my device is using too much data when im connected to 3g, yesterday it ended with my data plan, it used 400mb in 2 hours ): anyone having this issue? I had to contract an extra plan and still consuming a lot. I checked at setting > cellular > System services, and the general consumed 445mb and the others had a normal consume...

thanks

edit: problem solved, just disabled the whatsapp toggle in icloud settings...

another problem that i had 2 times updating on betas was battery draining, just sign out from itunes and icloud account and login again, works for me :)

It's because they are going overboard with the use of blur/translucency effects. Replace them with something less demanding and even old devices like iPhone 4S would be magically usable with 60 fps animations.

Blur is killing iOS.

Should we start an online petition to disable blur in operating systems? It's not energy efficient.

Um blur is what makes the design beautiful in my opinion. Maybe people should stop complaining that high end features aren't working well on phones they bought in 2011&2012

I agree the blur is very aesthetically pleasing but it's not just old devices that it's causing performance issues with. The 6 plus and 6S plus are both experiencing performance issues here as well, most likely due to the increased demand from the high rendering resolution (1242x2208) when compared to its 4.7" or smaller counterparts. I think users with these phones have a reasonable complaint considering these are the new top of the line devices.

Fingers crossed Apple does some performance tweaking of that effect to make it more resource efficient. Smooth and responsive interface interaction has always been one of the primary elements that attracted me to iOS over Android.

Same here. Not really seeing anything at all different on iP6 either.

My phone becomes hot after listening to music in full volume on main speaker. Battery drain is horrible. Bad apple apple

I don't under how some of you don't understand what betas are but install them anyway.
You may or may not have been following the forums since 9.0 has been released but people have been giving that response since the 9.0 betas. "It's a beta it'll be fixed in the final!"

But as we've seen that doesn't always happen. It's important for us to make an issue of bugs so they don't go unnoticed. Don't get me wrong I love apple products but some of you take it so personal when someone reports an issue.
