I remember last year they gave employees a whole week thanksgiving holiday, no fw updates released but also no updates on the App Store seen. But this time,we can get all app updates just in time. That may be point of we can get a new beta or final release until Thursday

Well, if there is to be another beta, then it can be released this week (even if there is a bug there - well, it's beta), but if the next step is the official 9.2, then we will probably have to wait until next week...

Looks like beta 5 or GM today maybe?

There will be NO GM release for a point update. The point of the GM release is to get the next version to the iPhone manufacturer so that it can be installed on the new phones. That situation is not germane at this point of the cycle.

And with the 4-day holiday weekend coming in a few hours, no release today... patience is a virtue.

What the hell are you talking about, "they need to get the next version to the iPhone manufacturer so that it can be installed on the new phones". The next iPhone are releasing Sept 2016. There will be a GM soon maybe for 9.2. There was many other iOS updates that had GM regularly.

You asked about a GM for 9.2. My point is that there is no reason for a GM release at this point of the cycle. Please try to comprehend what I said before responding in a totally incredulous way. Words mean things.

One more time, THERE WILL BE NO GM RELEASE for iOS 9.2. The next release will either be another beta OR the GA (General Availability or production) release.

So what's the difference between GM and Production release? :D

I think you're using the term GM to mean a final release. In this case the non-beta final version of 9.2 given to the public.

The 9.2 final release will not be a "GM" (Gold Master), it will simply be an update or GA (general availability) release. GM is reserved for software loaded in manufacturing prior to general release of software. 9.2 will be GA once the beta period ends. Saying the GM will release is incorrect because there will be no GM of 9.2, its not needed since it will release to the public in sync with factory use.

When you think it's going to be released then .. ? i am not from the U.S. so i don't know all yours holidays dates and times off

I'm looking forward to the X.X.2 versions of both iOS 9 and El Cap. Both have had more bugs that I'm used to with most Apple products.

Apple gives the entire week of Thanksgiving off to FT employees, so don't expect anything this week.

Go Home.

#codeajax
Apparently Mr. Codeajax, being English, doesn't understand that almost nobody is at work in the US today and that releasing a beta right before a 4 day weekend when everyone is away from work would be a terribly foolish practice.
Thanks for your input, though.
