Choppy but seriously that's just being nitpicky!
It pulls down fine in landscape and portrait. So why does it matter if it is choppy during the orientation transition?
It matters because these little details are what add to the overall fit and finish of the OS. You may not think much of them, but they do make a difference in the experience.

That stutter is most likely due to hardware processing. Orientation sensor, gyroscope, and etc all taking up cpu cycles the same time the UI is doing so!

You should know by now that Apple talks out of its ass when they boast about their new devices.
It's probably not using both cores when switching orientation.
Ehh, I'd be inclined to believe them. Many tests and teardowns have been done backing their claims. I think at its root this is a software optimization issue. Nothing more, nothing less. Heck, all these little problems like this one started when iOS 7 was released.

Now when I slide to put the passcode, tht animation stutters. I swear to god, they fix one thing and break another.

I updated to 9.3 beta 1 this morning and the trouble started. I am having a hard time pairing with Bluetooth. My Garmin Vivoactive wouldn't pair and everything else required many tries to pair until they worked. But not the Garmin. Anyone else having Bluetooth problems? Also while pairing the bluetooth icon was going from light to dark white. In the Bluetooth control panel I watched it go from connected to disconnected to connected then fail.

I am experiencing the same problem - I submitted feedback to Apple... very sad that I don't think this will be fixed until an update on one side (Garmin) or the other (Apple) :(

I have an iPad mini (2nd gen I think), will night shift work on it? Don't want to bother with the beta if it doesn't. Thanks in advance :)

For me it's been just as stable as any iOS 9.x release. Plus the added benefits of the new features and performance improvements made in 9.3.

Each beta build should get better and better as they're released too (expect anywhere between 4-6 builds until it's officially released.)
Not having the Bluetooth issues some are reporting with power button cutting off call if on BT headset? Or switching back to phone or BT?

What I think it's funny about the iPhone plus landscape bug is that even though the animation is hilarious, it is very smooth lol

Thanks, good to know! I'll have to install the beta tmw, really liking night shift so far. Really helps when you have a headache but need to check something on the phone

I agree, night shift is great.

Contortions? Really? Rotating Spotlight search is some sort of outlandish action to you, that you think no real life user does? Is it really too much to ask for that to be fixed?

So you pull down spotlight search, then rotate the phone, then start typing or use it? This sounds like you're trying to put on your shoes before your socks :D

I have not once used spotlight in landscape. I also believe only a few would. Your way makes no logical sense to me.
Rotate the phone, pull spotlight down. Problem solved, now move on

Bear in mind that iOS is also used on iPads too. Landscape use is not alien to iPad users.

Really? Didn't know that. Again, read what I wrote and ask yourself. Do you use it in portrait mode, pull down spotlight, swing it over to landscape?

Not usually, but it'd be nice for the OS to be further optimised. I still notice little hiccups here and there when using my iPad Air 2. And I mean in everyday use, not instances where I'm actively looking for them. It would be nice to see these resolved once and for all, as taken together they do detract slightly from the experience of using iOS. There have been major improvements since 9.0 but I would like to see further improvements. I'd just like to see Apple continue to improve :)

I did last night a clean restore on my 5s and it was working fairly smooth but as soon as I changed the wallpapers, things started to go down hill: control center and notification center stutter a lot, folders, swiping pages, scrolling and by far the most annoying bug ever for me is when I press the sleep/wake button to turn on the screen, there is this flicker on the edge of the screen, it flashes a white light for just a fraction of a second and it looks horrible.

OTA update for me and on the lockscreen cc stutters but when I unlock it, it feels buttery smooth. Spotlight is smooth. But that flicker when you press the sleep wake button (even home button) is a minor but VERY annoying thing for me. Drives me nuts. Reported it and hope it's fixed in beta 2 if they make one

Can anyone help me fix this issue? ('1' displaying next to "General" and "Software Update"
  1. Installed Beta Profile, downloaded 9.3 beta
  2. Backed up my phone (with profile installed and beta downloaded)
  3. Installed beta
  4. Decided to revert back to 9.2, and restored phone to 9.2
  5. Restored from last backup
  6. Once fully restored, I went to delete the downloaded 9.3 file (since it was downloaded when I backed up) and deleted the beta profile
  7. Settings app still showed the update available, restarted phone and that was fixed
  8. Now, I still have a '1' IN the Settings App, the one that shows up next to "General" and again next to "Software Update"
  9. I've tried numerous reboots, and even Reset All Settings, but can't get rid of it. To be clear, this is not the red '1' that appears on the Settings app icon itself - that I did successfully get rid of. It's the '1' that appears in a dark circle next to General and Software Update within Settings.
Any help in getting rid of that is appreciated!
