Anyone having trouble with lte conenctivity. I am using transmit to sftp and it won't connect on lte but it had no problem on 9.2? 6S+ here

That's what a lot of us have said many times over but it always gets ignored. Overall in the bigger picture iOS 9 is better and more stable than iOS 8 ever was. However there have been some that can't see that and only focus on one small aspect (the stutter) and couldn't care about anything else. Which IMO is strange because stability is far more important than fps in a couple areas.

Since when is it considered that iOS 8.4.1. had stability issues? As far as I know it was a stable OS, I don't recall any stability issues at least personally. On the other hand, the feel, responsiveness and stuttering are not to be underestimated, iOS9 did have significant performance issues in places where it was honestly mind boggling.

Furthermore, my biggest issue with iOS 9 is still unresolved and at this point I don't think it'll get fixed ever: input-blocking during animation resulting in having to tap 2-3 times the same target: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/ios-9-vs-ios-8-4-1-unresponsiveness.1942001/

All versions of iOS 8 were plagued with apps crashing, re-springs of the springboard, total random reboots. The forums had just as much threads and posts about all of that as iOS 9 has of "lag" this time around. Not to mention the countless posts about weather app stutter that some just like now seem to only focus on. (Was often the very first question of every iOS 8 beta "is the weather app lag/stutter gone?")

8.4 redesigned music app can cause huge OS slowdowns when left open in the switcher after 10+ minutes of use. Which got posted about very often as well.

I guess everyone has short term memory of all that and more though.

Does all of that apply to 8.4.1 or 8 overall? My comparison is strictly iOS 8.4.1 vs 9 because that's the choice users were given: to stay in 8.4.1 or upgrade. To be fair the latest 9.3 release seems to improve on the stuttering, though I'd have to do more usage to see how extensive it is.

Also in retrospective both iOS7 and iOS8 introduced performance/responsiveness hit on their predecessors, I think what was different in iOS9 is that Apple actually claimed it'd improve performance and it actually was the opposite. So a bigger backlash was to be expected.

At first I thought I was the only one experiencing this issue since I didn't see a lot of people posting about it. I am also on T-Mobile and having the same issue getting some apps to work over LTE. They worked fine before 9.3 Beta 2 on LTE and now only work on WiFi. I also submitted feedback to Apple about it. This is only affecting T-Mobile USA users. There were too many apps that I use daily that didn't work on LTE so earlier tonight I downgraded back to 9.3 Beta 1 and all is working now on LTE as it did in the past. Beta 2 includes a different T-Mobile carrier update and this is the source of the problem. I'm hoping the next beta addresses this issue.

Yes! Having the same problem with Outlook, as well as Transit and a few other apps. Also on T-Mobile here. I submitted a feedback report and they wanted to know what carrier I had as well as when the issue occurred - so they're definitely listening. Submit feedback.

Can someone test this bug -

Open app switcher, then quickly start sliding an app up to close it but HOLD IT - it'll sort of spring back and stop moving completely until you take your finger off the screen.

This happens under natural circumstances quite frequently, and there is a specific time from when then app switcher animation starts that the screen will basically always not respond until the finger is taken back off the screen (approximately when the app tile crosses over the home screen title in the switcher)

This is about the only other bug I can find so far... 9.3b2 is pretty stable.

Ok, I am done with this whole cloud crap. I put all my music in icloud but my phone says I have 24 songs on my iphone, yet when I turn off any internet connection, I can t play any of my 500 songs. Basically, I have 24 songs on my iphone but can t play them.

Tried very hard, nothing, works perfectly ...

Are you on T-mobile by chance? Seem there is an LTE connectivity issue with a lot of apps with this beta and T-Mobile users.

There is still a bug in this beta (note that I am on the PB, not the DP) with 3D Touch Peek/Pop gestures for app switcher when you are in the camera app. If I press harder on the left edge while in this app, I do not get the vibration from the haptic feedback, although the app switcher will eventually open. Oddly enough, the normal behaviour occurs if you go all the way to the left or to the right in the camera app (to pano and time-lapse modes). It's quite an odd bug to be honest. I submitted a bug report since the previous beta, but it still wasn't fixed...

Can anyone else reproduce this?

I am! Glad it wasn't just me!

Really strange how it was some 3rd party apps and not others? All of the stock apps had no issues but I could any mention of it. I had to go back to 9.2.1 for the moment, can't have half of my apps not work on cellular!

I'm on 9.3b2 with T-Mobile LTE and have no issues with apps connecting to the internet on LTE.

Yes, I'm on 9.3pb2 with a 6s+. When using 3D Touch to switch apps in the camera app there is no haptic feedback. Any other app, there is haptic feedback This has happened before the beta in other apps on 9.2.1. Not sure what causes it but will file a bug report now.

I can confirm that beta 1 'fixes' the issue, just downgraded and all apps connect to Lte with no issue. It does sound like a carrier update/firmware problem hopefully it will be fixed with the next release.

That's very strange. I'm on 9.3pb2 with T-Mobile and have not had any issues with LTE in any apps, first or third party. I'll do some tests and report back anything I find. Does this only happen when on LTE or does it also happen with LTE turned off?

Basically everything connects fine on wifi but when you turn off wifi some apps can't 'see' the Internet and can't connect. This happens on 4G or LTE. It's strange because it is not all 3rd party apps that exhibit this behavior.

My iPad mini 4 is worse on 9.3. Games that never strutted in the past have lots of tiny stutters now. I think they did something to OpenGL when they made 9.3.

Also, beta 1 had a really smooth app switcher and now it's stuttery in beta 2

Control Center and Notification Center are choppy on the iPhone 5, used to be perfectly smooth on 9.2.1 :( .

On my 6 plus, beta is a step down. beta 1 was very polished but beta 2 has introduced lots of stutter. The screen freezes briefly when reopening with touch id before the icons stutter back into place. Did a clean install and this doesnt seem to fix it. Beta one was super smooth though. notification centre now has jerky movement when swiping down and this is very irritating . I was really enjoying beta 1 which made my phone feel like it was new. Annoying quick reply bug in whatsapp where the keyboard freezes and stays on the phone screen till you restart . (Has been present in previous betas as well so this maybe a whatasapp issue)

On my 6 plus I noticed that the stutter only occurs the first time you swipe down or up. If you continue opening and closing CC or NC after the initial swipe it's very smooth.

Same here on my mini 2. Spotlight is also extremely sluggish and stuttery where before it was the best it had EVER been, even better than iOS 8. Notification Center is a total wreck, and keyboard is very sluggish and stuttery to pop up too. Opening apps feels more sluggish too and generally the whole experience is a lot worse - except maybe control center is a bit better, now much smoother over open folders :p better than iOS 7 or 8.

Yep, saw this on a spare iPhone 5 I have around the house. Spotlight also stutters more than it did before, Notification Center stutters, and so does control center. All of which used to be a totally perfect 60FPS. Control center acts almost exactly how it used to on my iPhone 6. iPhone 6 CC is now perfect 60FPS instead of the iPhone 5 with beta 2 now.

I think they tweaked both OpenGL and Metal this time around. OpenGL games got worse on all my devices, and devices using OpenGL for their UI got worse. Higher resolution devices on Metal (iPads and iPhone "pluses") got worse, where the lower resolution metal devices (iPhone 5S, 6, etc) got much much better.

Pb2 killed my data roaming outside the us. Error:could not activate mobile data network.

Did clean restore to 9.2.1 and cell data worked. Updated to pb2 (still clean install, no restore) cell data error. Definitely a pb2 issue

Pb1 worked perfectly. Wish I didn't update.

Very strange battery stats. My device has been off the charger for 3+ hours.

Can anyone with an iPad Air 2 tell me if the pull down when switching to a different app for Split View is quicker now? On 9.2.1, it takes about two seconds for the switcher to come up, whereas on the Pro it's instantaneous. Thanks.
