I hope not, the GM doesn't release until September.
The last beta of iOS 8 (Beta 5) was released August 4th.

So you agree?
Towards the end, beta stick around longer and GM comes on iPhone announcement morning.

So if the last beta is beta 5, then it would be silly for Apple to start public beta testing on beta 4. That would only give them like less than 2 months until the actual software comes out in September. It makes more sense to give them 3 betas to test as public: 3, 4, and 5.

Everyone is saying Pb1 comes along with b3, who's saying otherwise?

Does anyone know if betas have been regularly released on Mondays or Tuesdays?

Betas have been released on every day of the week except Sunday, with Monday being a little more popular than Tuesday.

I totally didn't do that myself out of curiosity...

Well the pattern seems to change later during the beta period, including shorter 1 week gaps and longer 3 week ones as well. Then it's usually a long wait from last beta to GM.

Well of course, but it's all in good fun. It's just like when people try to predict / make- up trades between two sports teams. It's all hypothetical and fun to speculate about.
But it's not. It always happens that the expectation level rises and people get disappointed. Eventually the level of discourse degrades to name calling and fighting. It changes the whole tone of the conversation.

Quite frankly it's a pointless exercise because unlike the sports analogy where there is a wealth of knowledge upon which to form an opinion, beta releases are only a guess. The way some use the release history would be like saying Arod hit 2 home runs last night so he'll do it again tonight.

I love guessing as much as everyone else, but these never ending threads just get in the way. A much better solution would be a poll where people can vote, with comments locked.

If this were to happen, this website would be rather plain.
Pages of just polls and no text content or comments section.

If you can't handle/judge a rumor, maybe MacRumors.com isn't the place for you.

People should be able to discuss rumors and guess about beta release dates without name calling and fighting. Sad that stuff like that even occurs in a discussion about tech.

Ok, right. As if there aren't hundreds of threads where the discussion has some actual merit.

While Home Sharing for music has been removed in iOS 8.4, the feature is still available for video. Home Sharing for music also remains available on the Mac and the Apple TV. It is unclear when Home Sharing for music will be introduced in iOS 9, but the next beta is expected later this week.:(

Except that example is completely different, because sports are completely unpredictable, no matter the pattern. If you're getting your hopes up over a date (which is likely a guess) posted by someone who more than likely does not know the actual release date, then that's your own fault. I just don't get the big deal over people speculating and why people get their panties in a bunch over something that's completely a non-issue. (And yes, i know you'll turn this right back around at me and say the same thing. :))

Exactly, thank you. No idea what the big deal is quite honestly.

If you're so unhappy with the site, why are you still spending time here?

I guess they don't realize when we say 'My money's on tuesday', we're joking around and just having fun guesses.
Similar to 'Cue will hear a Hawaiian shirt on the wwdc stage'

People taking forum comments far too seriously lol.

Yeah totally, like I just spoke to Eddy on the phone and he said it's coming out tomorrow so I don't know what the big deal is?

Only a few more hours until we get a new beta...if it follows previous schedule. I'm hoping to see some Apple Music UI changes by time iOS 9 is released. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they use iOS 8.4 feedback to make some changes to iOS 9 music app.
