I guarantee it? That's pretty bold. Given that the last beta was released just last week.

I honestly think that beta 3 will be released next week. iOS 8.4 & Apple Music will be biggest headlines for Apple news... These betas are for testing purposes which are essentially for developers.

Releasing beta 3 will be too soon.

They could release the same beta tomorrow with only Apple music as the only change.

Apple don't usually release two versions of iOS on the same day, and I think iOS 8.4 may cause server traffic. But at the same time maybe it will release at the regular update time two hours later along side 8.4.

I hope you are right. This means more chance of it being the public beta.

EDIT: Do you have a source, or is this just an assumption?

No source, but I've been testing betas (for fun not as a DD) since iOS 6 and it's almost always a 2 week cycle, expect when it gets to about beta 5 and higher. Then it's 3 weeks sometimes.

I doubt it, they are not intended for people to use as a DD (even though many do) so they're not going to be too worried about pushing out music to 'developers' as soon as possible. I don't think Apple music will change anything for the release cycle.

It wouldn't exactly be the first time Apple has released a beta within a week of each other

I understand that. But just the fact Cue was so vague about it seems to indicate that it could potentially lead to having it later rather than sooner.

But tomorrow we will find out if your guarantee holds up...

My sentiments exactly.

The conclusion is that no one really knows one way or another. Plenty of guessing this way or that way, but nothing really to make one thing or another necessarily that much more or less likely really. Could certainly happen tomorrow, could happen later this week, could happen next week (hey, could even happen later than that).

Do you guys know if that with Apple Music you're going to be able to stream any album off the iTunes store? Basically just be able to stream all of iTunes for that monthly price? Like spotify? Or is it going to be like the Beats streaming service where it chooses music for you? Because there are going to be some albums I'm in the mood to listen to and I'm going to be pretty upset if i have to keep skipping until I find a song of it or relative to the album :/.

I believe that's the idea Apple wants to have, but reports indicate that Apple are still in talks with some record labels for supporting Apple Music.

The fact there's this 3 month trial period... it helps both the customer & Apple. While we as customers can decide whether Apple Music is for us & for Apple to close those open deals in that time frame to give Apple Music users more selection of content.

Yes,

But like will we be able to stream the albums that they have the record deals for now?

Ex: I open up Music and want to listen to the album Abbey Road by the beatles (Apple owns this label) will I be able to just up and stream it? Instead of like clicking a radio station and pray that my song i want to hear from that album comes on?... I think it's awesome that people will choose my music for me (because i am very indecisive) but if I'm in a certain mood to stream an album just like I would on spotify and apple owns the label and I can't....? Then Im going to not buy Apple Music

Yes, that's the idea. The Beats1 radio will be for people who wants to discover some new content.

It will have DJs in place to help users find new musical acts, but you don't have to listen to Beats1 radio.

Why would they wait on the b3 seed? Apple wants as many people streaming Beats 1 and signing up for trials tomorrow as possible. That includes the huge dev community! Tomorrow 8:00 AM is my bet!

That's exactly how it will work but you picked a terrible song for an example. Even though they said in WWDC that you could stream any song in iTunes, it looks like the Beatles may be an exception and may not be streamable due to licensing. We'll know for sure tomorrow.

Can't wait to find out if your bet is right.

My bet is on them releasing beta 3 next week. Although they want many users signing up for Apple Music, but who's to say they will release Apple Music w/ beta 3.

Don't get me wrong.. I hope they release beta 3 w/ Apple Music, I'm on iOS 9 on both my iPad & iPhone. I'm so excited about Apple Music so much I plan on forgoing jailbreaking my iDevices.

I'm restoring back to 8.3 on the off chance that ios 9 wont be getting Apple Music tomorrow. I may as well wait and download 8.4 with everyone else

Yeah it's possible though Eddy Cue did hint at a new ios 9 seed. Maybe B3 will seed today and 8.4 tomorrow to reduce server strain
They have announced that they have changed the way delivering software. Previously, Apple need to first download the package, unpack it, and write contents to iOS partition. Lets say an update requires 2.5GB to download, then, you may need at least 5.1 GB of free storage to store both downloaded file and extracted files. Now, I guess, they update software by streaming software package or even files (just like how Office 365 software installs on your PC) to your iOS device. This doesn't require huge space for storing a whole IPSW package.

Therefore, simply to enable Apple Music, Apple only needs a very small file to enable or install related tabs and open access to Apple Music server, and everything would be fine. They don't really need to seed an update large enough such as 400MB to do this. And for iOS 8.4, the only major change is music app, which will not take much disk space to install, and will not even need to download a large file.

i really hope us iOS 9 beta users get Apple Music today. I don't want to downgrade... Beta 2 is pretty stable.

Now maybe its just gonna be a server side thing for us? I mean Beats 1 is already there. Lets see...
