Full charge at 7am... Not fun.

I find my battery is dying a lot faster with low cell signal than it used to.

battery on 4s is really bad. It is draining and heating up like 5s was

Definitely some bug affecting this beta version. I sent whatever I could via feedback app including several battery logs at different intervals.

I gotta admit though - performance on 4s is very solid. Some lag here and there still with launching apps and texting (whenever using keyboard)

but its much smoother than iOS 8. No laggy frames and slow animations. Very noticeable improvement over iOS 8 in that regard; the battery drain, keyboard lag and app launch delays are still annoying however and hopefully are all fixed by the time iOS 9 is released

Terrible on my 5s I've sent in feedback about it. It's still a solid beta other than the battery :)

With 4S the performance are bad or worse respect ti iOs 8?

4S:

better performance overall, but still rough around the edges (keyboard lag, slight app launch delay) but its smoother and faster than iOS 8 overall. Less lag, less stuttering, less skipped animations

battery life on PB3/B5 is terrible though.

Overall shows promise, but certain performance issues still need to be ironed out

Bodes well for iOS 9 though

How can I downgrade?
You'll need to restore, which means all content would be lost.

Download the iOS 8.4.1 .ipsw file from the internet first (I use the website ipsw.me); plug in your phone to your computer; in iTunes, do SHIFT + Restore iPhone and select the downloaded .ipsw file; and let iTunes do its thing.

Similarly, you can set it in DFU mode (hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons together for 10 seconds and then leave the Home button pressed) while plugged into iTunes, and iTunes will automatically download iOS 8.4.1, downgrade, and restore your phone.

After this is finished, you can restore from an iOS 8.4.1 or earlier backup you've created.

Okay, this is a serious question. Is Safari snappier in iOS 9? I have a jailbroken iPhone and just remembered and installed Webscrollian - that's a tweak that speeds up scrolling in WebViews (across the entire system, actually, so it's not just limited to Safari). And I swear it's a whole new experience.

So, is scrolling in iOS 9 WebViews finally quicker?

Thanks!

Is anyone else experiencing the incredibly slow unlocking? When I press the home button to wake the phone it's a full 5 seconds before the screen lights up and takes a further 3 seconds for touch ID to register and unlock the device.

8 seconds just to unlock the thing. Once I'm in, it's buttery smooth, no jittering, way better than 8.4. If only it'd unlock quickly

Fine and smooth for me (4s + 5s) - doesn't lag when unlocking on 4s anymore which is really nice

Certainly not snappier yet with the betas, at least for me. I have an iPhone 5s and the betas have been pretty bad on it so far.

How can I downgrade?

  1. Download iOS 8.4.1 IPSW from the many trustworthy site out there.
  2. Disable Find my iPhone on the iPhone.
  3. Hold the Option key whilst clicking on Restore iPhone.
  4. Browse to the downloaded IPSW file.
  5. Let iTunes do its work
Note that you WILL NOT be able to restore from the backup you made whilst on iOS 9.

Yeah I have noticed the same thing. Mine is really slow using touch ID. Definite lag. I really need Apple to release a new beta this week. My phone is almost unusable at this point because of the battery drain and at this point with official ios 9 a month away I really don't want to downgrade to 8.4 but I am barely getting 3 hours of limited use right now. I have been using betas since ios 7 and there is nothing that has come remotely close to how bad this battery drain is.

Anyone with a feeling of when the next Beta is coming?
The feelings will range from possibly this upcoming week to there possibly not even being another beta before the GM and final version essentially. So basically nothing that would really indicate anything one way or another.

If the battery issues are widespread, I would anticipate another beta as more likely than unlikely

iOS 9 has been awesome on my iPad Air 2. It's definitely extended my battery life compared to iOS 8, and I didn't even do anything.

On my iPhone 5s, however, I downgraded within a few days. Listen to the complaints from other iPhone 5s users, it's not a good update right now. This actually makes me worried about the official release. I will probably not upgrade the software for a while until I see that most of the bugs have been worked out. As it is, iOS 8 runs fine on the 5s.

Yeah. I'm planning to downgrade and to stay on iOS 8.4.1 until these issues are fixed. I'll probably update to iOS 9.0.1 or 9.1 when it's released just to be safe.
