Question: is the low power mode on the iphone efficient?

I've never even used it yet in all the betas. Never had to, because I'm getting over a day standby with usually 8 to 9 hours use on most charges. I think it's designed to slightly improve actual use but it's really more for longer standby until you can get to a charger.

Where can I get the file to do a restore for a 5s? When I hit restore in iTunes it says it can't. Thanks guys.

I see, but as long as it is efficient, that's good. Because they could add that feature and still suck battery.

Has someone tried to activate the low power mode at 100% to see how much the battery would last with it always on?

I've used it when I hit 20% the past few days and it drained just as quick with it on as it has without.

That all depends on what settings you use before turning on LPM.

If someone already has their settings to not push email, background app refresh off, automatic downloads off, parallax wallpaper off, Proactive Search off, you probably won't notice much a changes at all. Because for the most part that all it does.

I thought it had something to do with that. I run my iPhone pretty streamlined. Right now I'm lucky to get 4 hours out of it. With the last beta i was getting almost double.

I heard it also downlclocks the CPU. That should be an important step.

True, I left that out by mistake. But I did say if you already had all those options turned off already then you wouldn't see much a change at all. CPU being downclocked just a bit alone won't effect too much unless you're gaming. Surely most simple tasks wouldn't even be effected by a downclocked CPU.

Mh, I hope this mode will be effective for me! I'm confident.

I've been moving for the past week or so, and I haven't had a full charge on my phone to report usage times, but I can tell the phone feels much faster than beta 4 and battery does not seem to go down as quickly. For a beta 5 I'm very pleased with it.

i was on PB 3 and my 6 plus was freezin intermittently and also lagging when turning the homescreen in landscape mode, does anyone think downloading the dev beta would make a difference ? Appreciate they are the same so maybe a daft question....

Its the same build number.
Try doing a clean install. (i.e. Clean 8.4 then update to 9.0 PB3)

Thought I would share quantitatively what resetting the setting did for me, as discussed earlier in the thread. Phone does still become hot but no longer "bake" like it used to

Before I was getting about 3 hours of usage time on my 5s

Now this is what my usage is like by the time battery saver mode asks to kick in

(Top stat is usage, bottom is standby)

I took this screen right as battery saver mode asked to turn on:

About twice the usage I was getting compared to when I installed PB3 prior to resetting the settings - iPhone 5s

Salut, tu as installé la beta et tu as réinitialisé ton téléphone ? "Effacer le contenu et réglages"

Du coup, tu as perdu toutes tes données ?

There's a bit of lag when opening the Control Center and some apps here on my iPhone 5s. Sometimes there is lag whenever I slide to enter my passcode, as well. Battery life is definetly inferior to iOS 8.4, with Safari being the main culprit for battery drain here.

Not horrendously bad, though. I don't plan on downgrading.

I'm getting about 10 hr usage and 30 hr standby regularly with my usage. Seems okay. 6 plus.

when I back up my iPhone to my mac, the updated apps don't transfer even when it asks me if I want to Backup Apps and I click that. It pretends to, says transferring purchases, and then nothing happens and it completes. I have like 40 apps I really don't want to re-download on my mac.
