I still have trouble with this page. Every once in a while it shows a facebook like us thing or download our app thing. I can exclude it with the extension but it comes back. Reported this more than three times but no solution as of yet

Anyone tried Handblock?

They updated the app and offered it for free, so I decided to try it out. So far it seems to work the same as Purify; I notice no difference.

@avatar-adg Please check the site: http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com

Looks like they have implemented ad block detection which doesn't let you open any news links on the homepage. The homepage opens but then try to click on any news links and it asks to remove the adblock. This happens both on the iPhone and Windows desktop.

Ad guard's anti-ad block needs to be updated to handle this site.

Forbes did that a while back, and when users disabled their blockers, they were pomp rely served compromised AdWare.

I had noticed that on Forbes site holding you from viewing the article unless you disable adblock. I simply stopped going to Forbes for articles. Just recently, I noticed that Forbes is no longer asking you to disable the adblock. Probably decrease in viewership and this malware ad news forced them to change.

It's unlikely that people who are in the know-how and use adblock will disable it just to read a news article given that there are alternative sources.

As did I.

Yep, I dumped Forbes.. they aren't the only game in town. Plenty of news sites to choose from.

Updating on some news websites blocking adblock/content blocker users - I did an experiment testing few of the content blockers one byone. Adguard, Purify, Crystal, 1Blocker, Focus were detected bu the website and page loading was blocked. Only exception was Adblock Fast which managed to load websites while still blocking ads. Possibly they are doing something different which lets them through the adblock detection on websites

Enable the "Anti-Adblock Killer | Reek" list, this will get you into most of the sites which block access when adblocker is detected.

... Tried enabling the Reek list and the site still detects it and blocks page loading. Also with Adblock Fast, sites were opening earlier but not any more. Looks like it's the next move in the cat-and-mouse game.

Thanks!
Looks like this particular website is forcing to remove content blocker on the iPhone but on the desktop, it's now letting you to read articles. On iPhone, you can request desktop site and it works though not very readable on iPhone.

On the desktop, does the chrome extension use the same rules as iPhone adguard? I don't see many options and filter lists including anti-adblock in the chrome extension.

Other news websites have reverted allowing you to open the site with adblocker on.. probably they ran an experiment testing how many people remove adblockers and how many switch to other news sites.

Blockr just went free on the App Store. Even though I I already have Purify and Handblock, which both seem to work relatively fine, I downloaded it.

Anyone using it? Any thoughts?

Why, everything is there, just click "All filters" in the "Ad Blocker" settings section.

Loving adguard. Is it possible to get rid of the Adblock warning on this site? None of the anti-Adblock filters seem to do it for me! http://m.bournemouthecho.co.uk

Could you please show this warning on a screenshot? I've examined that site, found share buttons missed by social filter, but no adblock warning:
https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardFilters/issues/2532

I see an anti-adblock on the indiatoday.in:
https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardFilters/issues/2534

However, I see nothing on the ndtv.com. Could you please take a screenshot of it?

Chrome extension uses the same filters, but it has more capabilities (some rule types are impossible to use with the content blocking api).
