Generally happy. Smooth and faster than ios 8. Recommended upgrade!

The app opening delay after tapping an icon has gone on my iPhone 6. Very odd.

iOS 9.0 is far better than iOS 8.0 was ... by miles.

Unfortunately rotation is still very "incomplete" on my iPad mini 2...

I upgraded from PB3 and it was horrible, but after doing a fresh install and restore from backup. 9.0 GM has been super stable and smooth. I recommend others with the means to do a local backup, then do a fresh install.

The GM has been good so far on my 6 Plus coming directly from 8.4.1. The only odd thing, it was really warm when I unplugged it from the charger this morning. I realized it was still uploading/syncing pics to iCloud Photo Library. For some reason this is going excruciatingly slow. Other than that, I haven't noticed any issues.

My iPad Air 2 that was running PB3 however has been a complete disaster from beginning to end. On first boot after the restore, it was asking me for my iTunes store password and wouldn't accept the password for my Apple ID. Had to quickly dismiss the prompts and opt out of everything during the initial setup in order to get into the iPad. For some reason the app restore wouldn't complete and I can't do things like sync photos with iCloud Photo Library until the restore finishes. Now I have stuck update notifications on both the app store and the settings app that won't go away.

I don't know if this will help, but when my password wasn't accepted, I had to turn off wifi and use data and then it worked.

So it is very unclear to me as to what I need to do to receive the GM next week OTA. Do I need to delete the PB profile? Or will I just receive the GM automatically? I am installing PB 9.1 on my iPad mini as I type this but don't want to mess around installing it on my iPhone as I want to make sure I get the GM okay as well as the new WatchOS release.

I checked for updates via iPhone settings and ios9.1 pb1 was available...download.install from iPhone 10 mins.

I have 3 devices that I've upgraded to iOS 9 GM.

iPhone 6 - There's definitely some slowdown and random stuttering across the OS and in certain apps. (i.e. iMessages, Podcasts) Turning off Siri Suggestions helps a bit but it's definitely not as good as 8.4.1.

iPad 3 - Some animations seem faster (like swiping through screens) but in general, this things can't really keep up anymore. Access the multitasking screen will take like 3 seconds.

iPhone 4s - A pretty noticeable improvement over 8.4.1. The animations are definitely faster on this device.

What's confusing is how older devices can improve in performance and yet new devices like the iPhone 6 have degraded.

I'm going to put the iPhone 6 on 9.1 Beta 1 and give an update.

Have they fixed the settings bug, where opening settings would make it scroll down?
I think it's meant to do that. Scrolls to the area of "general".

I say they should just move that top stuff down then. But to me, it's a convenience thing to get me to the settings I find more useful more often.

Most definitely a bug. Or as you said. They could easily just moved it up if that was the purpose.

this is what mine opens to, after quitting and reopening. I don't think you can argue it's by design

Installed the GM on my 6 Plus, not impressed with the speed so far. Figured this update was for optimizations with Metal and what not, but things are lagging. Opening Multi-Tasking stutters 100% of the time.

People having issues on 9.0, is it tempting to go back to 8.4.1 or buy new hardware to hope it helps?

Another question is whether iOS 9 has the same sort of issues immediately after installation as OS X (e.g., data indexing) that results in a temporary slowdown and temporarily worse than expected battery life. Not saying this is the case, just a possibility.

Been on 9.1 beta since last night. On my 6 plus. Always knew the phone was underpowered but this really shows it...

Although 8.4.1 ran miles better.

Same, I always knew it was underpowered. It's obvious when you use a 6 Plus and then use a regular 6. It's why I'm hesitant to get a 6s Plus even though it has a new chip.

I personally didn't think 8.4.1 was anything special. 9.1 is pretty good compared to 8.4.1 and 9.0 GM.

Yeah the 6s plus is hopefully not underpowered. All that resolution stuff they do on the 1080p screen makes the phone lag. The 6 runs so smooth.

Had the iPhone 6 with Verizon since launch day last year. I switched to Sprint for the Cut Your Rate In Half deal + iPhone Forever plan and decided to get the 6 Plus. Fortunately I can upgrade to the 6s or 6s Plus with the plan when it's available for preorder. I knew as I started using the 6 Plus that it did not perform like the 6.

yeah because of their downscaling, the 6 plus internally renders around 2.7m pixels, not far off iPad's 3.1m. yet iPads generally get extra graphics capabilities in their chips.

iPhone 6 only renders 1m pixels for reference.
