so, what is your opinion? passing to GM is OK? or better to stay at 8.4.1 for a while?
My experience iOS 9 will be a great os once it is ready. But with the horrendous battery drain I experienced I have gone back to iOS 8.4.1. I will try iOS 9 when its released on mass maybe after a few weeks to see if there is a mass uproar with battery drain.

This must be a bug, or? The background should be blurry?

Really pathetic how Apple hasn't fixed such an apparent bug on a GM release.

Even more pathetic how the 5s still has battery and performance issues on a GM release.
Possibly because it's a very trivial bug so time hasn't been spent on it so far with likely more important things coming first.

With the ios 9 GM, I am finding that ibooks is still not syncing properly between devices (has been a problem for me throughout the ios 9 developer releases). Scrolling in scroll view is improved but still far from smooth as well.

With an iPhone 6 on TMobile I am finding battery life improved withe the GM.

Two days with iOS 9 and everything seems to be working awesome now, perhaps the background activity and indexing stuff takes a bit more of time to settle after a complete restore + setting as a new iPhone, but my 4S revived and better than ever! Battery is awesome and I'm quite surprised and happy with how the OS manages RAM now, also the smoothness is quite noticeable with opening folders, multitasking and CC. (Maybe it helps that I have transparency and motion off).

Are long presses gone in iOS 9 GM Apple Music app?

I didn't run any of the betas, so I went from 8.4.1 to 9.0 GM.

Before, long pressing on an album in "For You" brought up a contextual menu that allowed you to, for example, tell Apple Music that you don't like the suggestion.

However, I'm only seeing this behavior in the playlists in "For You." The contextual menu is completely gone when long pressing on any suggested albums in "For You."

Others seeing this as well?

Battery performance on 5S is definitely not trivial. I was down to 15% yesterday with just ~3 hours usage and 12 standby. I can watch the battery percentage tick down as I use the phone.

This isn't an isolated incident as there have been countless 5S users reporting the same.

Except that's not what my post was about at all.

Yep - the 4s hasn't been this fast since iOS 7. It does take a day or two for the phone to settle in, an update right away may bring users lag initially.

But now? Smooth animations without lag, apps launch quickly (for 4s), texting is fast - unlike iOS 8

And the big one, battery life. I get more than 4 hours usage on iOS 9 now, whereas on iOS 8, I would be lucky to get more than 3.5

4s owners are going to be pleased with the GM. Its a lot smoother than beta 5 was. Beta 5 still had app loading lag and typing delays which was annoying.

Close settings and reopen, you will find it skips down and obscures search and the airplane mode toggle.
So is this a type of thing they can fix before the public release? Or is this really actually the final version? Or will there be one more build? Or is this really what the public is getting next week?

Seeing as it is still in 9.1 beta 1 I would expect a fix in a 9.0.x release

Full update though iTunes on iPhone 6.
First time i launched music, the phone went into a coma. Had to hard reset it.
Settings is wonky.
After installing an app, it decided i needed to go 3 pages right of the home screen.
Battery is good, 5 hours standby and 15min usage, it is still on 100%.
iCloud backup not working.

Why is Apple so **** at software? I dont understand?
Think about it, they already got your money and will get more, as 90% of users on this forum are going to get the 6s/+ thinking it's going to run better (it may very well) but most users (when it doesn't come to Apple) would stay put on their current device instead of forking out more money until the OS is fixed and running up to par.

With a lot of people (myself included sometimes) Apple seems to have some sort of control over us like it or not.

The more money we keep giving them, the more things stay the same

What ever happened to system-wide Metal? I was expecting exceptional performance with my 64 bit iPhone, but it runs like ass on 9.0 GM.

I'm thoroughly disappointed.

That's strange. It runs better and smoother on my 4s than iOS 8 did.

It runs very nicely on my 5s too, very smooth and fast like iOS 8.4.1; no complaints - given that the 5s and 6 are very close in power, I would imagine it would run nicely on the 6.

You may need to let it settle in and allow the indexing and all that to finish. My friend updated his 4s and said it was incredibly slow and laggy, yet now he says his 4s has never been faster.
