Really ??
Long-running joke!

I think Apple intended to release at least one more beta before this week, and this is just an automated timer.

As for 'apple_care' above, reported for impersonating an official account. If by some incredible stretch you're a genuine account, you should be fired by Apple immediately for your spectacularly amateur attitude and incompetence.

What about the expiry of iOS 9 beta? I wonder if that could be the reason for the notification?

That's exactly the reason, I posted it a few posts back. No one seems to get that though....

The notification is nothing but a reminder that the beta will expire (I believe it's a 7 day warning?).

Also: we've had 100-odd screenshots. Dos we need any more?!

saw this when I woke up randomly at 4am UK time.

I agree with everyone else who's said its a software trigger and I'd be surprised if we get a GM so close to the full release.

We can last a few more days.

I am surprised to see so many screenshots with 4 inch devices, given the fact that ios 9 runs like a turd.

Have to agree with this. I've got an iphone 6 and this set of betas have been really poor quality wise. Loads of bugs and even though we are near to the public release there are still loads of issues. Performance wise iOS needs a kick up the behind. My iPad mini is so slow that typing in the browser is usually about 5 seconds behind the key presses. Even my 6 isn't snappy anymore.

Perhaps they will pull this one out of the bag but i'm not that hopeful. We haven't seen another beta for over a month now which is quite poor.

iOS 9 beta (especially PB 3) has been running fast on my iPhone 6. Definitely an improvement over any version of 8. Not everyone gets all these "poor performance" issues. The problem with the people who experience slow performance seem to claim that's how it runs for everyone and whatever version of iOS it is sucks for all. When typically it's only truly a smaller percent that experience it.

Does anybody know what the expiration date on beta 5 is? Maybe it's an automatic trigger based on that.
