if it is a bug and there's no release, i wonder what is going on in cupertino at the moment lol

someone is probably thinking "****, that was my job to remove that"
Or they're the one bragging they did it...all planned to build excitement.

Got on iPad and iPhone. Like everyone, checked for update then came here to see what's up. Normally in bed already but up late tonight.

I received the message on my iPhone and iPad shortly after midnight CST. I'm in Chicago. Both devices are running the public beta.

I got the pop up on my iPhone 6 as well as my iPad. When I went to software update it said no updates available :-(

I've never seen that pop up before which is why it's odd to me but I did post this to the iOS 9 subreddit and so far at least one other person has received this pop up.

I received this pop up on my iPhone five today. And when I went to my general settings to download it it said it was completely up-to-date already. No option to actually download anything. So I'm not sure what it was

Can confirm I saw this tonight on my iPhone 6+
Couldn't update though

It's a glitch, as 50 various other people had previously commented already on. It will be out 9/9, oh look at that!

Flip the 9 for the day, you get 6 = 9/6 and it happens to be the same day today that everyone on DP or PB received the same message to update to iOS 9 GM, go figure.

I would hold your breath on any actual update today or any time before the event Wednesday. It's probably a good by Apple of putting the wrong date for the pop up. (Since that specific this probably doesn't get checked in each build.)

One thing it does in a way tell us. That GM will likely be OTA despite many claiming it never is or won't be.
