I got the same message waiting for me this morning.. Should it be available for download now?

When I go to settings, it says software up to date.

So I was messing around with the date on my phone and I noticed a weird pop up about beta iOS 9 appear but I dismissed it by accident before reading it. So I tried the same thing on my iPad and got the attached pop up. Anybody else seeing this? Does it mean that the GM may be coming tomorrow??!! I've never seen this in betas before.

Try this on your iOS 9 beta 5 device and let me know if you see it.

What do you guys make of this?

I saw the same thing on my iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6+, both running iOS 9 Beta. When I went to check Software Update, it said I was up to date. I came here looking for answers actually...

I'm on public beta iPad Mini (1) and my old iPhone 5 (using as iPod touch now), I saw this pop up on my iPad when I picked it up after midnight last night, went to settings, said I was up to date, so woke my iPhone 5, same thing. Seems like it was triggered at midnight 8/6/15, for whatever reason?

Oh. My. God. You guys are brutal.

It's not a "prank".
It's not a "sign".
Apple won't release a GM to the masses on a weekend or holiday.
There is no "hidden meaning".

This is obviously a mistake. Someone hard coded this (probably as a failsafe) and forgot to change it. It's a code error. And yes, most everyone got it. We don't need screenshots to prove it.

Sometimes these things happen. It's amusing, and a bit of a curiosity. But let's not treat it like the Zapruder film, eh? It's an errant popup notification.

Yes I agree this was probably done in error. Does anyone on know if beta 4 got the message on September 6th? I'm thinking they just forget to change it from beta 4.

Got this too on all of my devices running iOS 9 public beta. No available update when I checked settings. Weird.

Yeah I didn't mess with my date either and this morning when I grabbed my iPhone from the nightstand the popup appeared in my lock screen.

I'm guessing at 10am Pacific time the update will be available. Only because that's the time big updates usually seem to go live.

If nothing happens at 10am PT. Then it was a bug.

When I saw the pop up but no update, the first thing I did was check all my Apple news/rumors sites, nothing, then web search, nothing, I search with another engine, nothing, ...dang, o_O

My money's on Apple pranking the masses with an easter egg. It's extremely doubtful that a beta release, let alone a GM release, would occur on a Sunday... and a US holiday weekend Sunday, at that.

I got same message and I'm running the public beta too. I didn't do anything with the date I just woke up and checked my notifications and when I pressed the home button to go back to my main screen that same message popped up. Wondering if it's just some glitch. Concerning nonetheless......

I would say that the best thing that we can do is just assume nothing is changing until something changes. Yes the likeliehood of anything being released on a holiday weekend particularly on a Sunday doesn't seem very likely well lately there hasn't really been a map or a method to any of the madness. I think their trying to do things that cannot be guessed any longer. The only thing I hope is that that message doesn't mean that any of our beta's are expiring I would lose all of my data bc I stay on beta until GM then move over to Public copy on release.

Let's start a drinking game.

Take a shot when someone posts a screenshot of the notification.
Take a shot when someone mentions that they got the notification but found that there was no update.
Take a shot when someone insists that this means they're releasing it today.

We should be drunk in about 15 minutes! :-D

I noticed yesterday that a couple apps migrated under a new folder that I never started . Something happened with my 5S but not on the iPad.

Had the same update message but nothing available. Apple weirdness. Better ask Siri.

Hey Siri, give me a hint.

No f ing help.

I've never seen that pop up before which is why it's odd to me but I did post this to the iOS 9 subreddit and so far at least one other person has received this pop up.
Same thing happened to me this morning - it said new version available. I had just got up and was going to download it once I took the dogs out but now I can't see it under General > Software Update > says i"m up to date. It did make me put my password in again which it never does unless I restart.....

How is it concerning?
