There are not going to be any updates until the keynote on Wed. It is also a holiday, they generally do not release on a holiday Monday.

I suspect what is happening is that Apple is uploading the GM build to their CDN servers around the world and this triggered the software update prompt by accident.
Doesn't seem like even that would be it. People got this prompt a day or two ago simply be advancing their date setting on their device--it seems to simply be connected with the date and nothing more. What the purpose of that type of alert on that date would be is a somewhat different question, but chances are it's something that was overlooked and perhaps was meant as a reminder for those on older versions of the betas to make sure they are updated to the latest so that they don't run into expiration problems or something else along those lines.

Ah, good point. I didn't realize it was triggered by forwarding the date as well. That seems strange considering it is supposed to have an Oct date for beta expiration. I would suspect the prompt to start a few weeks before, not a full month.

Didn't advance the date on my device, so that's not it. Clearly an oversight, or the beta itself knows it's time for an update. :D

I saw it this morning too. And I came here to see if anyone had any answers. Instead I see the usual back and forth ******** of nobody wanting to believe anything anyone tells them.

Well, it comes on automatically today without advancing the date.

Probably a glitch more than anything. Perhaps meant only for those on earlier betas but end up showing up for everyone. Or something else of that nature.

I also got this pop-up on my iPad about 20 minutes ago. I did not mess with the date, nor did I take a screenshot.

So I was messing around with the date on my phone and I noticed a weird pop up about beta iOS 9 appear but I dismissed it by accident before reading it. So I tried the same thing on my iPad and got the attached pop up. Anybody else seeing this? Does it mean that the GM may be coming tomorrow??!! I've never seen this in betas before.

Try this on your iOS 9 beta 5 device and let me know if you see it.

What do you guys make of this?

Well this has escalated quickly since midnight last night...lol. Haven't opened my iPad yet, but guarantee I'll receive the pop up as soon as it unlocks. Can we put this to rest finally? Pretty clear it was hard coded based on date and time. The reasons why, we will never know...no point in back and forth assuming/debating. The GM is right around the corner...this much we do know.

I got it too

Blurry, less-rounded corners, a version that isn't even in testing yet? Yeah bad Photoshop job.

Here's what I found on reddit.

Honestly that makes sense. I can't believe we haven't had a new beta in a month. What's funny is only my iPad (Air 2) got the notification. My iPhone (6 Plus) didn't, even though they are both running DB5.

Either way, Apple has always waited to release the GM until after the keynote. This way no new features of the new phone(s) will be leaked. At the earliest, we MIGHT see Tuesday but considering it's a 3 day weekend I'm sure they'll wait until Wednesday.
