After mine "checking for updates" it tells me that I have the latest 9.1- and I DID install the GM beta but I know for a fact that I never installed the real released IOS.

I've tried rebooting, plugging in to a PC with iTunes and I get the same message each time when I try to update- that I HAVE the latest version of IOS.

What's up with my phone??? When I look at the version on my About screen it tells me I have:

9.1 (1385110e)

Can anyone please confirm that that's the GM version and not the shipping/release version?

You installed 9.1 beta (on accident?). You must restore in order to go to 9.0.

Well none of my devices will update either through iTunes or delta. So with that I just cancelled my order for the new iPhone. This is unacceptable. Apple is better than this. Instead of Tim Cook giving interviews in NYC; he should be back in Cupertino making heads roll. Whoever is responsible for this needs to be fired. A public example needs to be made.

Personally I don't think there's a need to cancel an iPhone preorder because of an iOS update..dude, it's launch day. Not everything works perfectly on day 1.

I'm not asking for perfection. Companies only respond when they loose money. I have had every iPhone and all but the first iPad. I buy Apple products over others in major part cause of being able to have software updates when the Company says they are available. I am an airline pilot and we loose our jobs if we cause more than two delays. Not being able to update any of the myriad of iOS products I have is ridiculous.

It was no accident, I got a notice a week ago that a newer beta was avaialable so I installed it. So, not it seems the GM beta won't let me install the shipping version because they think they are the same thing??? Maybe they are?

Can someone please confirm the version number for their iOS for me please?

Mine is, again, 9.1 (13B5110e)

Updating to iOS 9.0 Public Release from iOS 9.1 is a technical downgrade to an earlier version of iOS so therefor you must use iTunes to backup and restore to iOS 9.0 from my understanding. This is downgrading.

You are on 9.1 beta, not on the 9.0 GM. 9.1 is a later version than the released 9.0 version.

No, 9.1 is newer than the 9.0 public release. That's why it's not letting you "update" (really, go back) in General > Software Update. You need to use iTunes to restore to 9.0.

Oh, so the 9.1 beta I have is even more recent than the one everyone is updating too?!?!?

Guess I'll keep it then. ;)

I tried to update using iTunes. My iPhone 6 plus is stuck on iTunes logo, both updating and restoring lead to the same message, error code 17.

What should I do?

Did you update iTunes to the latest 12.3 version that was just released?
