I'm still wondering why 8.4.1 is going through the beta process period.
Ditto, they sure as hell better be fixing a lot of garbage issues many are having. Theres no reason for a x.x.1 update to be in beta for 3 weeks. But it wouldn't surprise me at this point if theres only one lonely engineer in a corner living at Apple 24/7 as the sole person working on iOS 8 with iOS 9 dropping in 5 weeks.

I can't focus at work until 1pm. So let's waste time here.

Would you guys like a dark theme in iOS 9?

To be fair, neither the rotation issue nor slow wake bug on the Air 2 in 8.4 have been fixed as of 8.4.1 beta 2.

That's what I'm hoping for. My fiancé's iPhone 6 on 8.4 feels so damn smooth compared to my iPhone 6 Plus on iOS 9 beta. It would also be nice if Apple Music would get some polish. Currently, I've given up on downloading music for offline use because it works about 10% of the time.
That's odd. Mine works pretty well actually. If I set a playlist to be available offline, any song I put in there is automatically downloaded. And when I make a playlist available offline, all songs in it start downloading right away.

Well, if Beta 5 is coming today, it's only about one more hour until the typical release time. Hoping that it fixes all the bugs I've been having (Apple Music has been refusing to download my iCloud Music Library for some reason, and the app switcher is laggy as hell for me).

Apple Music on 8.4 is full of bugs. This morning when I saved music it wouldn't show up under My Music. And then Beats 1 radio kept showing the same cover art for an hour. So my hopes is with beta 5.

and the most annoying bug of them all for me (which I still don't get): If you like a song first, then you add it to My Music, it removes the Like from that song.

Apple had better do a lot better with this beta as (barring emergencies) there will most likely be only one more beta after this one before iOS 9 goes Golden Master (if they are now following a 2-week-inbetween policy for both sets of betas).

I think beta 6 will be the final beta. There's usually about a month between the final beta and the GM.

My guess:

Beta 5: August 4th

Beta 6: August 18th

Golden Master: September 8th

iPhone 6S announcement: September 8th

iPhone 6S preorders: September 11th

iOS 9 release: September 16th

iPhone 6S release: September 18th

that looks pretty good. looking back at past iOS beta releases, i think usually by beta 5 or 6 is when it's pretty safe to use as daily driver and most of the big bugs are squashed. #crossingfingers

If the beta comes out today, I wonder if the update will be available again without the public beta profile. Last time the public beta was a day later and the same build. Just curious.

Yep it should. Both PB 2 and beta 4 have identical build numbers.

The 6S pre orders were leaked by Vodafone, allegedly. As September 18th for the pre order and 25th for the genuine release. This is not just in the UK, we get the same release dates as do more countries than just the U.S. If this turns our right then perhaps a September 12th Keynote? We will see.
