Which will reset Wi-fi and Bluetooth settings.

Now please realize that the these manufacturers can do weird things with paired devices that may not be the fault of iOS 8, such as restricting what functions are available to unrecognized/unapproved devices or not allowing them to pair at all. This would require an update on the radio to fix. Apple could have screwed something up as well or both of them.

I personally haven't seen issues with my vehicle (not a Hyundai) and iOS 8 on a 5S or 6+.
Sorry this is just flat wrong, I used all of the iOS 8 betas and everything worked fine, public release of iOS 8 is a nightmare, there were not even a fraction of the issues people have been reporting since beta 1. Something went very wrong with the public release!!!

didn't work on my mercedes, bmw, chevy, or honda. The fanboys need to stop saying its the manufacturers. Bluetooth calling in cars has been the same standard for a long time. This is a sad & pathetic bug of iOS8, not a car manufacturer issue.

Not to mention all the message bugs too. Ios8 is filled with bugs.

I agree. I don't get it how people can so blindly defend Apple. So let me guess, when 8.0.1 rolled out, AT&T should have fixed their network? When the "Antennaegate" happened, people should change the way they've been holding a phone their entire life?

Apple CAN do wrong, and they have. It's not to say the product is worthless. Every software company makes mistakes, and has bugs with new released, it's how it's handled that's the true indication of the company's commitment to the customer.

I'm a bit surprised that they didn't fix the bluetooth in 8.0.2 since the issue existed in 8.0

Have you tried setting the following?

Settings>General>Accessibility>Call Audio Routing = Headset

Has anyone that is having trouble with the BT in their car tried the following steps I suggested previously in this thread (reposted above)? No issues whatsoever on mine or my wife's iPhones running iOS 8.0 and now 8.0.2 in our 2013 Toyota RAV4 after changing this setting.

You realize what an awful thing that is to change, right? So if you're taking a FaceTime call at home (not in the car), the audio of a FaceTime call is going to be silent. In other words you'll have to change the setting each time. That's designed for someone who is hard of hearing and always uses the ear bud or bluetooth speaker and can't hear the phone's built in speakerphone.

Just got back from a long drive today. Nothing I did could get my bluetooth phone working in my BMW. Only change--iOS 8.

I have an aftermarket pioneer with built in BT. My phone connects but will not make or receive calls or import the phone book. The BT audio however does work for music and podcasts etc. when I go to phone my head unit shows "dialing" like the phone is stuck in a loop for the phone function.

Definitely 8.0.2, my 5s worked perfectly and my 6+ worked fine on 8.0. I've reset my 6+ cleared the 6 and HU etc. multiple times today and no joy.

In my 2010 BMW 328, while I can receive and make calls via Bluetooth the quality of the calls are awful. A lot of static with my iPhone 6 running 8.0.2. Also, when activating Siri, sometimes I don't hear the "beep" through my speakers like I did with iOS 7.

no issues here (works like before) 2011 Mazda 3 iPhone 6

Edit: my sympathies to all who have issues with it.. i'd be just as POed if mine wasn't working.... and i tend to agree that this sounds a lot more like an Apple issue and not a car manufacturer issue...

I have NO issues using the phone without a headset, so I'm not sure what you're talking about. Perhaps the setting I suggested only causes the phone to PREFER a headset if one is paired, but it certainly doesn't prevent the phone from working without one (or from switching back and forth between the headset and phone when you're on a call).

I agree that it's not something you should need to change, but I've proposed a potential solution for you to attempt to fix your problem and it seems like you'd rather just complain instead. Sorry I offered to help.

I could say turn the phone upside down and do a rain dance but if the solution is unrelated and doesn't provide remedy I'm not sure I have a right to expect people to be grateful i "offered to help"

Add me to the list too, my Bluetooth calling refuses to work properly in my 2015 Hyundai Sonata. Music streams just fine, and my contact list uploads no problem. But when I try to place a call, it'll act like the call is going through and then just hang up. Yet, the call is still actually going through on my iPhone 6. I've tried unpairing it, resetting network settings, etc etc but nothing seems to help. It sucks...I hope some kind of fix for this is found soon.

the issue is the phone really IS dialing. you're just not getting the audio. LOL

This may be, I think the bug is that the phone is always dialing, or that's what it's telling my HU even though it not actually dialing. Even when I'm listening to music it shows all the song info, then it shows dialing, even though clearly I'm not using the phone function.

It's something with the phone function for sure, even besides the BT connection for the car my wife and I have seen some funky things/glitches with the "phone" function. Either way ios8 is rough around the edges right now, hopefully this is old news over the next couple of weeks and all goes back to normal.

Add Mitsubishi to the list too! As I described in my other thread, I've paired ok and can make and receive calls however the audio only routes to the car once the call is connected (call timer on the phone screen) meaning there's a bit of a delay and the recipient can't always hear you. Also you don't hear the phone ringing out so you're not sure when the person picks up. (It's ok if the radios on because the music stops once the call connects, but if it's mute it's just silent until the call timer starts)

iPhone 6 on 8.0.2 (my 5 on 7.1.2 was fine btw)

Here's the fix.

"I've had a ticket opened on the issue since Saturday. I got a call back from Apple today and the support tech referenced a new document on the issue that was just released today. I've called him to get the link.

Anyway, the bug problem with bluetooth is how 'connected' all apple devices are via bluetooth, wifi, phone call handoff from iphones to ipads via wifi, etc, when using the same iCloud account.

The fix for now is to disable 'find my iphone', reenable it, and then restart the device. Since my iphone was already paired, doing this actually solved the problem - and it still works after a reboot of the phone.

If you can't get the device paired at all, even after the above, then reset your network connections. Then attempt to pair again after blowing away the bluetooth profiles on your phone and car(s).

I'll post a link to the document, but if you don't have multiple devices using the same iCloud account, you shouldn't be having the problem.

I'm sure there is a lot more to it, and this might not work for everyone, and quite confident they'll come out with a IOS patch to fix the problem, although the patch released today does not address the bluetooth issues."

What is your deal? Did you even try the solution I suggested to see if it might fix your problem? If it doesn't help, you've wasted all of 2 minutes.

It really seems like you're just here to complain if you're not even willing to try a solution that another forum member suggested in an attempt to try and help you. That's what these types of forums are for - suggestions, assistance, etc. If you're just looking for a place to complain and not try anyone's suggestions, I'd recommend you open a Twitter account and complain away. Otherwise, you're just cluttering this forum for people who actually WANT help.

Thanks for sharing. I imagine as it was documented that 8.0.1 was already in the works pre launch and Apple only now have been made aware of all these Bluetooth bugs then there were indeed no fixes included in 8.0.1 or 8.0.2 (essentially 8.0.1a) fingers crossed 8.0.3 holds the key and gets things back to the way they were. But it's interesting that you mention all the new 'connectivity', it makes sense that Apple could have rewritten the way Bluetooth is implemented but have blindly ignored legacy connections such as car hands free or headsets. But seeing as 8 seems to be trouble from the get go then I guess we're lucky with what works as it is!

Your post was the waste. Yes as I stated I did try the fix. I suppose I could say try dipping the phone in chocolate and then chastise anyone who questions my solution because I was just trying to be helpful.

Won't be able to test today, but have applied the "fix". Thanks so much! If you get the document, please link it!

Well, the disabling "find my phone," then enabling, and restarting phone did not work for me. Bluetooth is not working well in either of my Toyotas.

Is there any harm in resetting the network connections (the next step you suggested)? I just don't want to deal with anymore issues if this may cause some.

Thanks

All it will do is delete current wifi/bluetooth/carrier connections/settings. Carrier settings you generally don't need to worry about as its only advanced things that will be deleted. Wifi and bluetooth connections need to be remade, Thats it.

There is no harm in resetting network connections.

I had initial problem with bluetooth connection in my cars (BMW 335xi 2008, Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid 2013). This was solved by deleting devices from bluetooth listings on the phone and car (if you already tried to pair them). Then I deactivated bluetooth on the phone and also the car (very important), and reactivated for pairing. The pairings were successful afterward, with two iPhone 6+ on each car.

There's definitely a problem with bluetooth and iOS8 since I never had to do this with the older iOS. Try my method and see if it works for you.
