It took about 24 hours, but I finally had a "non appearing" swiftkey keyboard. I have finally figured out an easier way to reset... I'm sure I'm just slow on iOS steps... but I just double click on the home button which opens the task manager and swipe up on the message app which closes it. I reopen it then normally and get the keyboard. Easier than going to settings (duh).

Minuum is updated to 1.3 version and got more layouts bug fixes etc.

but i can't write a comment under a photo on Instagram.. The keyboard crashes immediately..There are not any issues with other apps..Just Instagram

can you please check it?

Tried Swype, Swiftkey and Touchpal but still feel the stock keyboard is much more accurate in touch typing with 2 hands.

It be great if Apple adds gesture typing on the stock keyboard so I wouldn't have to switch to Swype whenever I use it for 1 handed swyping.

I find it strange, that SwiftKey is so fast to say on their website, that problem with their keyboard not appearing, disappearing, not working, crashing and etc is because of bugs in iOS - yet, with Swype, I have not encountered one single of the bugs.

I re-installed SwiftKey (thought that hey, maybe I was just too critical) and literally the first time I was to use the keyboard (in iMessage) first it didn't appear. Afterwards, when I got it to appear, it crashed as soon as I tried to go into the character-selection...

Seconds later, SwiftKey was uninstalled and I was back to using Swype.

EDIT: This is in no way meant as a bashing for SwiftKey or and ad for Swype - I actually prefer SwiftKey, but it's so unstable and so utterly useless at the moment, it's sad, really...

I'm using Swype and the keyboard sometimes does not appear on iMessage too and have to force close+reopen the app for it to show up. It happens to all 3rd party keyboards.

I've used it for a couple of weeks now and haven't had it do this to me one time.

Have you enabled Swype as your only keyboard (as in have you disabled stock keyboard?)

I read somewhere, that if you disable stock keyboard, it makes third party keyboards more unstable (don't ask me why).

I have enabled both Swype and stock and, as mentioned a couple of times now, haven't had one single problem with Swype..

It's in the topic start for a while too "4) To get the best experience with a 3rd party keyboard please change the order/default keyboard in keyboard settings. Go into Settings -> General -> Keyboard and click edit.. it will let you drag the keyboards from top to bottom. Put the one you want first at top so e.g. 'Path Input' and then the Apple keyboard. It's best to reboot your iDevice to take effect. Then from that point on the first keyboard is the default before the Apple keyboard."

I also don't have problems with Swype (and Path Input) on my iPad mini2 running 8.1.1 except for Spotlight search and App Store (writing a review).

I have enabled only Swype+Stock keyboard under settings, rearrange the order, reinstalled Swype and it still doesn't show up on Message sometimes.

It happens on both iPhone 5s and 6. I did not enable Full Access though. No one else having the same issue with Swype?

A new keyboard with word suggestions on the keyboard is here. I also added it to the topic start post.

Crimson Keyboard | Crimson Keyboard app 1,99 dollar | optional full access rights - you temporary need to give 'full access' to download and select your language (if other then English), you can turn it off again after that | 11 languages supported | offers language-specific layouts (QWERTY, QWERTZ, AZERTY)

It seems we can expect that Nintype Keyboard is soon available in the App Store. According to their website it is already available but i'm not seeing it in the Store when pressing the US App Store link.

I did also check their other Note / Keyboard app 'Hipjot' yesterday and i did see that in the App Store then but no longer now. I'm unsure if Apple removed both keyboards or if the developer removed them.

Although i see a discussion on reddit here. I think we should keep an eye on the Twitter account.

These new keyboards look a bit complicated. Any word on any of the "older" apps getting updates? Like Swiftkey or Adaptxt?

Please keep an eye on the App Store for updates or contact those developers via their own websites. We really can't tell you. As far as I know there is no one here who works on Adaptxt or Swiftkey.

I wonder if the "full access" dialog prompt you get before using these keyboards isn't as big a deal as it sounds. Do developers really log your keys when using their custom keyboards?

I've tried several including fleksy, swiftkey, and Crimson. I always seem to go back to the stock keyboard. I sure wish Apple would add a dark theme.

Generally it's not as big of a deal as the dialog or some might make it out to be or think it might be: https://www.macrumors.com/2014/09/24/ios-8-keyboards-full-access-and-user-privacy/
