After playing with SwiftKey, TouchPal, and Swype, I think I prefer SwiftKey the most. The word prediction is the best of the three.

After using Fleksy, Swype and SwiftKey, I've found I love Fleksy's autocorrect more than the other 2, but I also found convenience with one-thumb typing with Swype is better than Fleksy and SwiftKey. Just wish Swype had a dedicated emoji button, although you can type shortcuts or words and they do appear in the prediction-toggle, otherwise you gotta switch keyboards. Fleksy had a dedicated button, another plus. But the one-handed typing...

I originally picked SwiftKey as my favorite, but Swype has improved a lot since its release. In terms of manual input without swiping, it's become more accurate than SwiftKey.

These two keyboards are added to the topic start:

Type Nine | Type Nine app 99 Cents | 3 languages supported | no full access rights needed

ThickButtons | ThickButtons app, 1.99 dollar | 32 languages supported | | optional full access rights, you can reject and still use if you want to use English language, for other languages you need to give full access |

Swype works good 90% of the time. The rest it ends up doing this:

Only way to fix is to close the app and reopen it.

I'm not sure about this one. I don't think it is a good idea for buttons to change positions all the time. I am used to where each key is. If the key shifts over slightly with every keystroke, it would cause me to make more errors.

Anyone notice that touchpal makes some appsb crash? For instance, I use dealb drop and as soon as I touch a text box, the app crashes. Swype and other keyboards work fine. Also none of the keyboards except stock Work in the app store to post a review andb none work right in the sygic app.

TouchPal generates a lot of crash reports on all my iOS devices. I've already reported this to the devs but they didn't want a copy of the logs.

Any response from them?

Yes, I had a conversation back and forth and they apologised and said they were working to improve things but I offered them the logs a couple of times and they declined. Not sure if that means they already know of the issues or are generating their own crash logs or not.

Hi

I want to introduce my custom keyboard app to you!

it is called MyKees Keyboard and it is available on both iPhone and iPad (2 different versions)

This app allows you to fully customize your keyboard!

You can choose:
-the keyboard color
-the keys color
-the text color
-the text size
-shadow, shape, ..

the iPhone version is available here on the App Store

Please let me know if you liked it or if you have any question, thank you. The app has been available for 3 days, please help me to spread the word about it if you liked it :)

Also not a favorite of mine but maybe there is someone who likes the idea.
I still keep using Swype and Path Input on my iPad mini2. Path Input does have a great small letters area and number keys directly next to it but although the swiping is great, typing a name (person) or location is sometimes not good because it thinks i mean something else. I don't have that when i don't swipe on the Swype keyboard.

Thank you for the promo of your app although i don't know if it's allowed here (but i'm not an admin). Nice keyboard but sorry not my cup of tea. But good luck with your keyboard app. I added it to the topic start post.

Is anyone having a problem with Kaomoji? It has nice emoji, but every time I bring up the keyboard, it keeps defaulting to Kaomoji, even when I was using another keyboard earlier in.

Got so irritating that I had to remove it altogether.

Is it too early to tell if 8.1.1 helps us at all (re: custom keyboards)?

Custom keyboards are still unusable for me on my 6+. Whatever keyboard I use, sometimes it doesn't show, sometimes it takes a while to show up etc.
Definitely not a joy to use so I'll stick with the stock keyboard for now.
