iPad iPad Air 2020 thread!

I had a chance to speak with someone about the order today - it is currently preparing to ship but still shows next week delivery. I was told that there is a high probability that some shipments from overseas are arriving late due to customs delay in the country of origin. I deal with Fedex & UPS frequently, almost all of my inbound shipments this year are a day or two late and have seen this customs delay several times. Could be worse.

If past experience is any indicator, when it does show up for tracking, it will be from Kentucky. The delay is in the product getting to the hub there. But that's my guess, I honestly have no clue haha.

Ordered green 256 cellular with a delivery of nov 6-11 but the charge just showed up on my card and usually when that happens the items ship within the next couple of days, so hoping I get it before nov 6th. Already received the folio case and pencil I ordered at the same time.

I was hoping it was already stateside when it went to preparing to ship yesterday. In Los Angeles and a lot of times Apple ship stuff out of their Rialto, California location which is about 60 miles from my home. That is where they shipped my smart folio from and my Apple Watch bands. So I was hoping that’s where my iPad was going to come from that I would get in early. There’s still hope it could still ship tonight last night they didn’t ship it till like 1130 at night if in fact it is here locally. I’ll keep you posted

sooo. It showed up in UPS My Choice. it is coming from China. Expected delivery date is October 28th. Which is about a week faster than my expected 11-3 to 11-5 delivery date.

Glad yours is moving, I hope mine follows suit. As of this moment, nothing from UPS. I see the wifi models are mostly available for in store pickup locally, no wifi+ cellular though.

Yeah, it's really just dependent on which model you purchased and the fulfillment center that services you and the stock they have. Since I just purchased the blue 64GB WIFI only (probably the most stocked sku of them all), mine came from the GEODIS warehouse in Lebanon, TN and UPS Next Day Air shipped to me in Texas, delivered today.

yes.Just receied notifications from apple and UPS that it shipped. UPS shows delivery date on 10-28 and apple says deliver by 11-2. I go by UPS. It just departed China a little while ago. yes mine is WiFi only. I have a hot spot on my phone I use rather than have to lay more for the cellular version. Between my watch and phone I give ATT enough money.
 
It doesn’t seem that much bigger than the Air 2. Getting tempted even though I wanted this design in the rumoured 8.5” or so Mini.
 
I checked out an iPad Air at my local BestBuy today.

Kind of surprised to see the corner bezels a bit wonky. Maybe it's just an early production model, but still.

Hopefully not indicative of the quality control going into these new iPad Air.

Arrived with a chip in the frame next to the button. Apple’s quality control is really slipping...that’s a couple of products in a row I’ve had to return. Annoyingly it’ll be mid-Nov before the replacement gets here due to stock shortages.

I’ve got my Sky Blue iPad today and I totally felt in love with it. The Pro design is amazing, I love the color, finally USB-C and the display is great. It’s not even OLED but the best LCD tablet display I’ve ever seen. The only thing I’m missing is having the 2 parts keyboard on the display. I don’t like the big and small one.

Ive had the iPad Air 3 before but that wasn’t something new in difference of my previous one, the Air 2.

Two parts keyboard? What is that exactly and how does it differ from the air 3?

edit: oh I see. Why won’t this air let you do that?
