Every single current case is a total letdown. They are all terrible and totally ruin the slimness of the air. I wish apple still made the first apple iPad case.

You like the original iPad case? That thing was terrible.

I just want a leather sleeve. I've found a couple but they say they're for iPad 3/4/air which leads me to believe my air would slide out of it too easy.

Im waiting on The Ridge by Devicewear. I've used one of these on the iPad 2, 3 and the mini and love them. They're very similar to the Speck leather cases but better IMO and cheaper on Amazon.

This is an excellent thread. Please make it a sticky for a few months. I tried searching Amazon on my own but didn't find this many cases.

Thanks.

After looking at these boards all week and surfing the web looking for options for my first iPad, I think I'm going to wait for Zerochroma to come out with their case. Its a shell with a fantastic rotating kickstand which I have used with my 4S and now my 5S and my husband has it for his 5. We love the kickstand for our phones. Now I just have to hope that I don't wreck my "naked" iPad until they release it :(

I'm going with the STM Grip 2. Looks like they fixed the minor issue of typing wobble by widening the stand.

Most of this cases are way too bulky and add too much weight in my opinion and seem pointless to use with something like the iPad Air. I've ordered the Logitech Folio for pick up from John Lewis here in the UK. It cost me £39.99 which is £5 more then the Smart Cover. I'll compare using the Folio and the Smart Cover/TPU combination and see which is better. I may end up returning the Smart Cover if I'm happy with the Folio otherwise I'll return the Folio.

Don't forget this keyboard case by New Trent

I'll be getting it in a week or so, I liked the ones they had for the old iPads. Quality products throughout their lineup imho.

So Syncreon seem to be taking my Smart Cover for a ride. It started out in the warehouse in Hinckley, 13 miles away from my house. Just checked tracking and it's now in Milton Keynes, about 2 hours away. WHY?!

Contega case by Pad & Quill is ultimate truth. And a smart cover on hand for around the house.

Thanks Giuly! I pre-ordered the KAVAJ Berlin Leather Folio Case from Amazon. I really wanted a thin leather case with a minimalist bezel that doesn't detract from the screen. I think you'll be hard pressed to find a 100% leather case for under $50.

I had Kavaj Berlin & KAvaj Hamburg. I loved the leather feel, however not so much a fan of the trims on the sides of the iPad. Also, don't like it that they close the case by running a thick velcro on the back of one side.

Good find--thanks for sharing. Any idea how much it weighs? I can't find that info on their site.

iPad Air Case Roundup

Every single current case is a total letdown. They are all terrible and totally ruin the slimness of the air. I wish apple still made the first apple iPad case.

What's wrong with the current smart case for the air? Aside the ridiculous pricing.

I'm more of a Smart Cover guy, the point or this thing is light. If I add a not quickly removable case, that's ruined. I may get a shield for the back but maybe not. I had a ton if cases for my mini and never ended up using them. Defeated the point of the firm factor.

To me the Smart Cover and the third party similars are the only real option. And a sleeve to transport.
