Think I'll get this one.

Im waiting on The Ridge by Devicewear. I've used one of these on the iPad 2, 3 and the mini and love them. They're very similar to the Speck leather cases but better IMO and cheaper on Amazon.

I just got mine today and I can safely say this is without a doubt perfect in every way.

I owned this case on the iPad mini and iPad 3rd gen so I knew what to expect coming into this one but its 6 stand mode, ability to hold it's stands in a lap environment or while in bed is a big plus. I also like that its slim and pretty lightweight.

If you have questions let me know.

I really like joy factory's smartsuit which is back ordered right now. I had a bronze one for the iPad 4 and it held up great for the year or so I had it.

I had one on my 4th gen. Where did you buy from?

After looking at these boards all week and surfing the web looking for options for my first iPad, I think I'm going to wait for Zerochroma to come out with their case. Its a shell with a fantastic rotating kickstand which I have used with my 4S and now my 5S and my husband has it for his 5. We love the kickstand for our phones. Now I just have to hope that I don't wreck my "naked" iPad until they release it :(

Good luck with that...they are slow and unresponsive. You'll see that case about the time of the ipad6.

----------

I'm going with the STM Grip 2. Looks like they fixed the minor issue of typing wobble by widening the stand.

That looks heavy

I made my decision and preordered the Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Folio. I can clearly see from their website that it's thinner and lighter than the Keyboard Folio currently sold in stores for the 3rd and 4th generation. This will be my first keyboard case but I think it will really work well for me.

It's supposed to release this month but not exactly sure when. Hopefully soon, because walking around with the iPad naked could result in a mishap in my chaotic house. But I'm trying to be careful.

I've enjoyed your metagamers reviews. Based on your positive comments, I just put in an order for the Devicewear case. I'm currently using the Apple Smart Cover. It's pretty good, but just not enough protection for me (I'm also waiting on a shell).

Anyone find a gel/TPU type back cover that fits well, has good grip, and is NOT! Smart Cover compatible?

I bought one on Amazon for $10 and the fit is horrible, very sloppy.

So Syncreon seem to be taking my Smart Cover for a ride. It started out in the warehouse in Hinckley, 13 miles away from my house. Just checked tracking and it's now in Milton Keynes, about 2 hours away. WHY?!

Mine seems to be in limbo too. The last entry on Syncreon's tracking is from the 6th which says "tendered for delivery" in Docklands, GB. That was Wednesday. We are technically already in to Saturday now. If its not here tomorrow I'm going to call Apple customer service and complain. That with the fact my screen protector from Amazon which was also supposed to arrive on the 7th not being here yet either means I haven't even opened the box and taken my iPad Air out.

Sounds like we both bought the same product. Mine fits poorly on the bottom, along the Home button end. It stays on but that end is loose. Will do until something better comes along I guess.

Here is a good case from Khomo. Releases on nov 8 and inexpensive

http://www.amazon.com/KHOMO-Black-P...qid=1383762013&sr=8-1&keywords=Khomo+ipad+air

Just received it and here is my take:

The Good

* Fits extremely well. Cut outs are spot on.
* Wake/sleep works very well.

The Bad

* Cover is poly, both sides. Gone is the really great felt that lined the inside cover of Khomo's iPad mini cases.
* Cover does not lay flat in the middle, only on the edges.
* Cover is VERY stiff and the three fold will not fold properly. Forget standing it up!

Very disappointed...their quality has gone downhill. This is not a keeper!

Yeah it stays on unless you touch/grab the end then it just totally gives on mine. I have the same problem at the volume control area too.

It sucks because for $10 plus shipping for a piece of plastic I expected a better fit. Two people left feedback on Amazon and gave it 5 stars, I'm about to lower that average, lol.

I had to lower the average a bit more. Very shoddy tpu cover IMHO. Also, the material is so thin, very unlike any tpu cover I ever bought.

Does the sleep/ wake work properly?

Can you fold it back flat easily?

Does it stay closed?

Thanks

Wow you haven't even opened it yet. I told myself I wouldn't until my case arrived but there was too much temptation. Although the cover arrived a day later anyway.

Can you post pictures or a link so we know what to avoid?

Moshi has now updated the VersaCover for the iPad Air, shipping December 1st.

What mateial is the back cover made from? Is it a softer TPU material, or a hard plastic?

I am concerned about scratches from hard plastic. Especially if there are rough seams inside, or even if not, just from friction against the chamfered edges, etc.

Thanks for good overview, I still like apple smart case/black better than any. No need in keyboards for ipad also don't like one adding bulk to it. I got stand for $8 on Amazon and it is perfect.
