It's on the Apple website in high quality, no need for youtube.

A tad bit boring but it'll get people taking and it shows how it works.

It's on apple.com now.

IMO, apple made a huge mistake with the song. The song is good for an iPod commercial, but not for a device that is intended for all ages. Parents and older people will be turned off by it.

I've got the Oscars time delayed by 15 minutes and was fast forwarding when suddenly I saw the iPad and my heart burst through my chest. Damn. Now I gotta wait for the GPS one. Looks like ABC is back on Cablevision.

He’s looking better!

Glad to see UP won best animated feature (although that’s not really a surprise).

will ipad have a camera after all?

i believe apple is "saving" some big news come april 3.. i believe the front facing camera that many consumers are upset that is not included on the ipad will actually sit behind the LED screen as discovered by apple's recent patent approval last year. since the OS is said to contain "video" and "picture" taking button graphics in the dev kits of the ipad shown in the screens below, it just seems unlikely that it won't have a camera, because of all the evidence! you know?

Meh... Can't say I'm particularly impressed. It's standard fare as far as Apple ad's go. Not bad, but not any sort of ad that will stand out (think: iPod silhouettes and "there's an app for that"). Which leads me to my next point: where does the iPad stand from a marketing position? From this ad, it looks as if Apple was trying to meld the iPhone/iPod touch demonstration/walkthrough style advertisement with iPod commercial-like music. Unfortunately, it's not well executed and feels a bit awkward. I understand that Apple wants brand coherence, but I'm not sure they're doing the best job with it in the iPad's case.

In the end, it's a mediocre ad. Nothing bad, but it's no breakthrough in marketing.

Uh most of my family including me are all over 30 and we loved the ad and the music. I think you're just trying to find a way to be critical. :p

Disagree, because it appeals to the demo that will purchase it first; think of it like a wedge; its the thin part of the wedge(demo) you focus on first; an no one is NOT going to buy it because of the music...

It looks very fast, that's what I was hoping for. I was watching the Oscars and trying to post something to Reddit on my iPhone. When that ad came on and I realized I was watching TV and commenting online it suddenly became a whole lot more appealing because it's about perfectly sized for that.

Still doesn't make me want one. Still makes me think it's pretty worthless.

I wouldn't say worthless, but not worth it. Yet. My guess is that it was launched 3/4ths finished to acquire real estate before other tablets came to market. My guess is that by the second iteration, it will be much more like an MacBook without the keyboard, and at that point will be competing against Netbooks, or rather, making Netbooks a joke.

Only if it's useable. In it's current state, and from how we've seen Apple develop touch OS devices, it won't. If this is supposed to take the place of a computer at some point it's going to need to make up a lot of ground in features.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7D11 Safari/528.16)
