I've been reading this thread for weeks and after being sucked in to the paranoia, I thought I'd share with you my conversation with Apple in regards to delivery on launch day. Here it is....

I'm afraid that this is no reassurance to those of us who ordered early (1:08 am on the 10th in my case) and have an email confirmation of order stating delivery by the 28th, but order status which says ships by the 28th.

A conversation i just had with a bloke from Lloyds TSB:

Me: Im just ringing up to confirm there will be no glitches in taking the money out of my account for a product i ordered next week.

Him: Okay, i will take a look, what product is it you ordered?

Me: an iPad from Apple

Him: Oh an iPod?

Me: No iPad

Him: Yeah iPod. So what can this iPod do?

Me: Its iPad and it can basically do a lot of things your laptop can do.

Him: Ah yeah all touch screen like?

Me: Yeah

Him: Well there seems to be no glitches and the money should just come out of your account next week. Where did you order it from?

Me: Erm Apple UK

Him: Oh directly from Apple, very good. Well enjoy your iPod

Me: iPad

Him: Okay sounds great, thank you for calling Lloyds TSB and have a good day Mr Lines.

Hahahaha

Thats the same thing i got when i phoned about my iPhone pre order with the car phone warehouse but just to make you aware i also ended up having to go to the apple store in the morning to pick my iphone 3gs up because they blocked the payment so i hold little hope that the Lloyds will not screw up again this time and i will have to go and hope that they have iPads in at my local apple store (i hate Lloyds)

Likewise mate and I ordered at 1235am on the 10th but I have been assured that i will receive on launch day...the ipad states delivered by 28th and the sim says ship by 28th.

That's weird, anyone else notice the App Store on iTunes has went back to displaying iPhone titles? For the past 2-3 weeks, the iTunes version of the App Store has only displayed iPad apps and charts etc. I take it you've all had that?

Nope I haven't... A bit strange. Although I have just downloaded an iPad app and had to agree to terms and conditions to do with the iBookstore in the UK which is good news.

Just got an e-mail from Apple that said the sim card ships separate from the iPad 3G and they shipped the micro sim card. I know that this is a UK thread but I thought that I would pass it on anyways. We are all in the same boat.

There's reports left, right and centre about the app store and iBook store going international but it doesn't make sense to me. The app store looks the same, still no iPhone/iPad toggle at the top like in the US. Also, iBooks isn't available in the UK so how could we download iBooks anyway?

In the Italian iTunes Store books are here: iTunes --> App Store --> Books (in the drop down menu)

The UK App store through the iPad has launched. It took a couple of days before the iPhone and iPad tabs appeared in the US store after Apps started appearing so give them a chance they still have a week yet.

The iBooks store now works with UK iTunes accounts which it didn't before of course at the moment you still need to have downloaded the App with a US account to begin with but I'm sure that will change by next week.

Actually, the UK app store isn't the same. If you go to areas like Reference, Productivity, Navigation etc then you will see only iPhone/iPod Touch apps listed and their charts. This is new as of today. For the past 3 weeks all the different sections have ONLY shown iPad apps except the Games section which has always shown iPhone apps. Tonight, it's all back to iPhone apps for the first time in weeks.

So the store doesn't look the same. This is the first night I've not had iPad apps and charts laid out for me in the store. I can still search for them. I think it's weird that this would happen. Feels like things have gone backwards.

I know that someone earlier in this topic said that Solutions Inc. Will be stocking the iPad on launch, but I need to know if that is 100% true. I tried to E-Mail them, but their "contact us" feature is broken. Does anyone know for sure that they will be stocking iPad on launch day?

I wish they would take the money then I will feel a lot easier. Firstly I will know the bank won't have had one of it's blonde moments and secondly it gives you the right to shout "where is my parcel" when it's actually paid for.

Got my 16GB wifi from an ebay seller yesterday, for not much over RRP.

I'm VERY happy with it, will probably pop into Lakeside tomorrow to meet some friends and might just have to drop by the apple store with it - they're sure to want to play!

Just wondering - has there been clarification on the warrenty situation - if I did have an issue could i just go into the apple store?

We had a US ipod years back and UK Apple sorted it out when we had a problem...

It's an international warranty so you would be ok. Various people in this forum have checked. Though obviously if there is something wrong in the very short term you would have to wait until stock becomes available to get it exchanged.

Actually that's not true, I've had it gonfirmed by multiple people at Apple it has the same warranty as the iPhone. So it's region based.

I am sure this has been done to death in the forums here. In fact at one point a corporate lawyer chipped in and the consensus was that it was an international warranty. I phoned Apple myself before buying a 16GB for my wife. My son did the same for his 32GB one imported. We were both told the warranty is valid in the UK. Trouble is the poor Apple minions get a little confused at times.
