On this point of money being taken from peoples account, I paid using a debit card with natwest. The money was removed from my account almost immediately after I pre-ordered. It hasn't returned to my account at any stage and according to Natwest, it isn't in any authorisation mode, Apple actually has that money.
Not that I'm fussed anyway.

I wish apple had my money i would feel much better about the whole thing and stop checking my order every hour to see if it has all gone ok

I'm with Natwest and mine went back. I would say your in the better position at least they have got your money. Was it a VISA debit?

Maestro.
I kept reading the stories on here of funds going in and out of accounts, mine left and stayed with Apple, just as if I'd bought something in a shop.

NatWest use two cards, Maestro and Visa Debit, with Maestro being phased out at the moment. If you use Maestro (like I did!) then Apple treat it as a debit card and take the full amount immediately. If you're on the new Visa Debit cards then Apple see them as credit cards (ie: Visa), and do the pre-authorisation shenanigans.

I am sure this has been done to death in the forums here. In fact at one point a corporate lawyer chipped in and the consensus was that it was an international warranty. I phoned Apple myself before buying a 16GB for my wife. My son did the same for his 32GB one imported. We were both told the warranty is valid in the UK. Trouble is the poor Apple minions get a little confused at times.

Thanks great news :) now must put the iPad down and do some work...

Okay, I've asked twice already and nobody took any notice. Third time lucky?

I ordered two iPads, separately, on the morning of the 10th, around 7am. Both 32GB 3G with an O2 sim. I got the second one after my first order got stuck in limbo but it's sorted now.

So, I could keep the second order and sell it at cost to someone who's missed out on the pre-orders, for good karma.

Or I could sell it for about £75 more because, well, that's the way the world works.

Or I could cancel it.

Would anyone here like to buy it either at cost, or make an offer over cost? Pickup from SW London would be fine or I'd post it.

If no offers from here I think I'll cancel as I just can't be arsed with eBay.
