I am 62 and have arthritis in all my joints, If I can use it w/o issues, I have only one thing to say, ,but I won't
When I bend the cover over to the backside, due to the curvy design, the left most part keeps bulging outwards as I hold on to the right edge.

I'd love to see a smaller, lighter iPad... basically use the retina display
technology to keep the same screen resolution, but shrink the device
down to a more manageable size.
People who have troubles without the iPad should get a gym membership to strengthen their wrists and fore arms. And how is it non ergonomic? How would you make it different
I'm wondering if our snarky friends have used the iPad to read an entire book? That is totally different than surfing websites, writing emails and the like - whether it's for 5 minutes or 5 hours.
Apple obviously positioned the iPad as a book reader. (See all the ebooks they are selling) So expecting an ebook reader to be "amazing" or "miraculous" - to use their words is not asking too much.

All of this is common sense.
get the apple ipad case. doesn't make it lighter but it's a lot easier to hold imho.

Time for a gym membership
It appears that iPad does requires gym membership which limits its potential customer base to a very tiny minority of population.
After playing with tye iPad at the store I have to agree that it's heavy. This isn't an issue with notebooks since they can rest on one's lap. I prefer to have the iPad closer because the physical interaction with it takes place on the screen itself. I feel like an external keyboard eliminates the purpose of the iPad.
I must say, however, that it looks amazing.
