My eyes aren’t the greatest, and I’ve been trying to recreate the jelly scrolling on my purple iPad mini 256GB, and either I’m not seeing it or it’s not happening on my iPad. I’ve tried multiple websites and articles saved in reader mode and can’t recreate. Sorry to hear others are affected! Here’s hoping Apple can address this issue.

Man you guys are putting me off this iPad mini revision. I might cancel my order , or return it. If the issue has not been resolved by mid October.

Fingers crossed the new MacBook Pro screen does not suffer from this issue.

I think it's the kind of thing you need to see for yourself to see if it's a big problem for you. That's my intent - I'm getting one delivered Wednesday and I'll evaluate it for myself and decide based on my own opinion, not on what I have read here or elsewhere.

I don’t notice it but really don’t want to look into it too deeply because I’ll wind up dissatisfied.

My IPad Mini 6 definitely has this issue.
I love the form factor, and have been waiting for this tablet a long time.
I was very excited when I got it yesterday.
YouTube, Apple TV, reading and casual browsing are perfect on this.
Except, something felt off with the screen from the start, especially when I was reading and browsing.
My eyes somehow had trouble adjusting. Then I saw the news about the jelly issue and suddenly it was clear as day.
Doesn’t matter if it’s in Reddit, news website, this forum or even the Photos app- the effect is quite strong, so much so that I feel a bit disoriented/ dizzy after using it for a while.
Right now the only choice I see is sending back.. and waiting until Apple decides in a few years to upgrade the display. :(

I suggest don't cancel.
This is a fundamental characteristic of LCD panels. They typically sequentially scan either from top to bottom, or side to side, typically either at 60Hz or 120Hz.
On previous iPad Minis the sequential scanning was in the long direction, now on the iPad Mini 6 the sequential scanning is in the short direction. The scan skew will only be evident for lines that are oriented parallel to the scan direction and moving perpendicular to the scan direction.
This means that people who used previous iPad Minis in the portrait orientation would not see text lines skewing as they scroll, but now do on the iPad Mini 6.
It is not a defect. It is a disadvantage for those who like to use the iPad Mini 6 in portrait orientation to read text, for example.
Conversely, it is disadvantage for those who like to use previous iPad Minis in landscape orientation.
The skew angle is half as much for 120Hz sequential scan displays.
Many people do not notice it. You need to try it yourself.

I tried it on my iPad mini 5 in landscape and noticed it too.
Same. I’m glad it was pointed out by @wilberforce that this is inherent to LCD panels. It’s definitely noticeable in landscape mode on my Mini 5. However, it’s minor enough where I think I could quickly forget about it. It has never been a problem before (to be fair though, 90% of my usage is in portrait orientation.)

Anyone else noticing this? I’ve seen 4 Mini’s today and they all seem to have some lag on the left side of the screen when scrolling through pages in portrait mode. Especially visible on pages with a lot of text and when scrolling up and down. I’ve also checked every other iPad model and to me it only seems to show on the Mini…
Can you give more info? Like is it rubberbanding? Or just lag? Cuz when I think of jelly I think of rubberbanding for example… you swipe up to open the iPad then in less than a blink of an eye it goes back to the lock screen

You can tell way it been designed it more for landscape use ie media & gaming, but alot of people will spend more time reading on it in portrait mode.

Apple should have gone top to bottom rather than side to side with the screen controller, because in landscape mode it would have been less apparent this jello effect due to the small screen.

120hz would also have help all but eliminate this, but this is Apple we talking about & you don't get such luxuries unless you pay big bucks.

After spending the weekend playing with the Mini 6 and comparing it to the Mini 4 and other tablets I feel this is pretty much not an issue.

The Mini 4 is much worse in landscape, and the issue is gone while in landscape on the Mini 6. Apple clearly did this to favor the wider landscape aspect ratio of the Mini 6.
