You don't like it, okay how about we GO BACK a generation instead? You don't like 7, okay how about gen 5, is that better? Okay mister, you bought yourself a generation back. 4 it is. Now 3. 2. 1, I'll go in the negatives if I have to. I'll have you guys on outdated tech for the rest of your natural born lives! -Tim Cook, probably

Spec bump. You get a much better iPad Mini than you did yesterday for the same price. Would I like to see a iPad Mini Pro? Sure, but guess Apple's metrics just don't justify that. Personally I'd rather see an additional iPhone Pro model (maybe not mini but at least smaller than what we have) which I think would sell in much higher volumes than a 3rd iPad Pro size!

It's been 3 years
"better for the same price" is the absolute, barely above the floor level, expectation for any new product

Apple gets ZERO credit for that

Does it fix the jelly scrolling issue, though?
I preordered one specifically because of this. I love my mini, but had to stop using it a month or so after getting it because it was giving me headaches using it because of the jelly scrolling. Rumors pointed to this update switching the direction of the screen refresh, so I'm crossing my fingers it's fixed. If not, I'll return it.

Does the upgraded USB-C mean it will work with Apple's displays now? The 6 would only display an exact duplicate of the main screen scaled up when plugged into a Studio Display...
Similar to the iPhone 15 Pro, Stage Manager has not yet been implemented.

So you would have rather Apple just not upgrade it at all and also give them ZERO credit... There is no difference to you?

It's fine to spec bump it, yes - of course!
One would hope for that -- finally -- it's been out for 3 years

But it's also very understandable why so many of us are reacting how we are

When a product gets updated only every 3 years, the expectation, rightly, is for far more since it's going to be "set in stone" for years to come now

This thing isn't 'Pro' in Apple's eyes (wish they made one, though!), so I knew it wouldn't do 120Hz, but I was hoping they'd at least thin it out a bit and slim the bezels with a bigger screen. We're just disappointed that we waited so long for an update just to see a spec bump.

Personally, I think that other poster is right in that Apple intends to let the Mini die on the vine.

People are always going to complain no matter what. The mini 7 is a nice improvement over the biggest complaints I had with it, RAM and base storage.

They’ve fixed that along with other minor updates and kept it at the same price. I wished it would’ve had the A18 for efficiency, but having a chip that was only available in a $1000 phone last year isn’t so bad.
