I love this. I would buy one on day 1 of release.

My wife has a mini - I think a gen 2 - and it's starting to show it's age. The smaller bezels will obviously mean more real estate without the physical size changing.

Plus, the kids moan that some Roblox games don't play well on it 😁

Depending on the specs, I might too and forget the iPad for another year

I like my aging mini these days for regular e-books (ones without a lot of charts or maps or pictures), which usually means things I take from the library or get offered via assorted Kindle promotions. Otherwise mostly use it for quick glances at news, weather, sometimes audiobooks or another inevitable round of Pocket Frogs...

Not so much a mini for magazines, or at least not the ones I am interested in. which includes quilting and surface design offerings. Too much scrolling or zooming ends up required... Anyway I need to upgrade my iPad pro, so I have time to absorb feedback on the latest minis after rollout.

Bottom line I'm interested in an upgrade, but not for awhile yet. Budget priorities!

I would have gotten this if I didn't buy a 2020 iPad 11" - I'll keep my 2020 until it dies.

I hope it's all true and we get an exciting new iPad mini this fall 🥰
I wouldn’t doubt it as the new 12.5 iPad is already on sale, that was quick to start off loading them…if the mini has 6gb ram, I’ll get it as soon as it’s out.

I been wait so look that it just a fantastic now! I now serious doubt that Apple will ever release a new design iPad Mini model....ever!

iPads are often on sale somewhere in some geo - and never from Apple directly. I wouldn’t read much into it.

It was obvious that mini-LED wouldn't happen.

Also I’m more interested in OLED and more then that micro LED. At the end of the day mini led is just another LCD tech. For me the reason I went back to Samsung devices after the 7 and got a X later was OLED screens

Yeah I agree. Don't see them going any lower than that.
Anything lower would not be an upgrade. The Mini 5 already has 3GB of RAM. If we’re lucky, it’ll have 6GB of RAM, but I’m doubtful, since the Air doesn’t even have that much RAM yet.

I’m hoping that the Air and mini are upped to 6gb ram, then we have choices and apple uses old inventory up…win win, instead of win lose for us.

I'm very excited to see what they do with the new Mini. I have an old 9.7" Pro model that needs replacing, but I also desperately need a new Mac computer. So I don't want another iPad Pro, I think a new Mini will fill the gap nicely for my use case, which is web browsing and videos and emails. And the odd game.
I also hope the new Mini will come in the same colours as the new Air.

I loved my iPad mini. But after getting my 11” ipad Pro & my iphone 11 max pro… i don’t use it as much. However… i would get this upgrade IF the new mini gets the flat edged design of the pros & is able to use the Apple pencil 2. As an artist, i would take the ipad mini when i want to travel light but still be able to sketch & work on photo & video editing while on the road.

I can’t wait for this! Originally had the mini 5. Only upgraded to the iPad Pro 2018 for the bigger screen for video editing. I miss the convenience of taking my mini outside the house. I never take my iPad Pro out.

I can't help but think this is going to be like the iPhone SE 2020 - everyone thinks there will be a redesign and the rumours + renders swell - but instead, it will be an internal spec bump only. I really wouldn't put it past Apple because they want to keep a low price point and if you need more there is iPad Air.
