I can't help but think this is going to be like the iPhone SE 2020 - everyone thinks there will be a redesign and the rumours + renders swell - but instead, it will be an internal spec bump only. I really wouldn't put it past Apple because they want to keep a low price point and if you need more there is iPad Air.
Disagree ..I think this time there will be a redesign…has too.

Well, we will know Sept 14 about iPad mini….if by some chance one of the updates is 6gb ram…I will pick one up too.

We might not know anything about iPad Mini next week. Rumors say the event will cover iPhone, Watch and maybe new AirPods. iPad is likely next month, unlike last year (although the Air did get released in October 2020).

Traditionally iPhone events don’t come with iPad announcements. They save them for a separate event.

Can Apple put a decent screen tech in new mini like promotion display and better contrast or hdr at least!!!!

Yes they could but I believe they develop along the best bang for their buck…just enough to call it new but not so much as to obsolete everything else…also they have to use older inventory up…I think that’s why this new design has taken so long.

look for the iPad to get some kind of redesign as well…they can’t keep current chips cool and has to be addresses soon..current design has run its course.

There wont be a new Mini, its vaporware. Every analyst on the planet has falsely claimed a new redesigned Mini is coming any day now for nearly TWO YEARS now. Apple hates the Mini, thats why they took 4 years between updates,. Don't expect a new one any time soon, if ever.

I am interested to see how much of a difference the larger display would make. I have a mini 5 and hadn't had an iPad mini since the first one. How the heck did we use those things with that terrible display? This one is small enough as it is.

This is fake, even Zelbo, who has seen the real CAD files, said this is fake. Don't get your hopes high on the price not changing. It's going to start at $499... Apple is not stupid and in this case it's even fair....
That will be $678 AUD plus add ons, stuff that 🤦‍♂️😂

Smaller bezels doesn’t warrant a price increase, don’t get greedy now Tim Apple 🙄🤦‍♂️

It's not just thin bezels, it's touch-id on the power button, USB C, inductive charging for pencil 2 and probably stereo speakers... Of course this warrants a price increase, like it did on the air...
And let's be honest, people will buy more a $500 redesigned mini than a $400 same design one...

Nobody thinks that an almost entirely new device is going to retain the old price.

Been done before with the iPhones, no price hike from 11 pro to 12 pro.

Sure someone did it to an entirely different product line at an entirely different price point. Last I checked iPad minis cost significantly less than flagship iPhone Pro models.

Maybe Timmy boy is feeling a little generous in his old age. 🤔

I definitely don't believe $399 for the base...if they did that, it would be an instant-buy for tons of people, myself included. As it is, even at $499 (which I expect), it will be an instant-buy if everything else in these rumors is true.
