but the case itself is perfect for me. Great fit and texture, and the sleep/wake function seems to be working without flaw. For anyone looking for a case similar to Apple's own Smart Case or the original iPad folio case, this is an excellent option.

I agree as I use it, I'm very pleased with the quality of the construction. Time will tell how it holds up to daily use but so far this is the best case I've seen or used.

The Ridge by Devicewear

Devicewear is taking pre-orders for their iPad mini Ridge case. Site shows it for $39.95, but there is a pre-order coupon available that takes 50% off, 50OFFMINI (Until 11/17).

I'm thinking that I like this style folio case more than say the Smart Case like folios, or folios similar to the iPad 1 design. If anyone has spotted a similarly designed case on Amazon please point it out to me, specially the ones that snap in and have the back completely covered.

This looks a lot like the speck fitfolio but with a working sleep wake. And half the price.

I really like the speck fitfolio but want a working sleep/wake. So, now my fit folio is going back.

Be wary of cheap cases. I bought a few and you really get what you pay for...cheap smelly material, weird feel, limited orientations.

I went and ordered this as I had it on my iPad 2 previous

Targus Versavu Case

Was gutted :(

Case doesn't even click in place

And where as previous case was a shiny material that could be wiped easily this is a Material that will stain/Mark easily

Went ahead and got Belkin Classic Case. Very Happy with it.

And LESS bulky!

Only issue I see is no closure clip like on the fit folio.
This is important to have if the sleep/wake is active.

I just dont know how well this new case will stay closed.

Hmmmmm

It's a decent case, but I feel as if it's priced too high considering that it has a pointless cut-out and missing a feature that many like. I am certain we will similar cases from other companies that will probably be priced better and full featured (Switcheasy Canvas comes to mind).

Maybe the cut out is for the 4g version

Just got my Speck FitFolio in the mail. While I didn't get it for $1 at Target and it doesn't do sleep/wake when you open it, I still really like it. It's just like the case I had for my iPad2 and has a plastic latch rather than elastic. I really like the angles you can prop it up at for movie viewing, or whatever. I think I'll be keeping even though it doesn't do sleep/wake.

Picked up an Otterbox Defender on a whim today at Bestbuy. . I'm normally not a bulky, over protective case guy, but so far I'm really liking it. At times I was thinking the Mini with Smart Cover was just a little to small / thin freezing in the hand. Couldn't figure out how to hold it.

I think they really did a good job on keeping the bulk down and making it feel great in the hand.

I absolutely love the Defender for the Mini.
Otterbox hit it out of the park with this case.
Great feel, not too bulky, super protective, great fit.

Awesome!
