I’d love to hear how all you iPad Pro 10.5” users are feeling about your iPad. Is it still serving you well? When do you plan to upgrade next/what will get you to upgrade?

I upgraded to the 2018 12.9 Pro last year but held onto the 10.5 Pro I bought 2.5 years ago. I use it only occasionally now but it is still going strong with zero issues. I'll be giving it to my daughter next time we see her in person.

Battery’s not so good but no complaints about performance yet. I’ll probably end up just upgrading it on a whim.

It’s the 12.9” I need to replace first. I often use that one docked with keyboard and mouse/trackball so FaceID authentication would be quite helpful there.

On the same boat as rui no onna - I can tell battery life is not what it used to be, but it does everything I need it to do very well.

I have a 5th-Gen Mini that I bought for work right before lockdown and has not been getting much use. I might end up replacing the iPad Pro with it, if once lockdown ends it turns out I don't need it much out in the field either.

Just upgraded our 4 year old 9.7s that were working ok but noticeable battery degradation. I think 4 years is about the limit for heavy users.

Honestly the only reason I haven’t snagged a new 11 inch is because I love my leather Smart Cover and think the iPad 11 case is garbage. I do love my 10.5 iPad and often times use it over my 12.9 pro or mini 5. So the answer is I’ll probably upgrade when this dies. I just installed the iPad OS public beta and things seem very quick.

Everything except the battery are still perfect. Considering to replace the battery when the health state drops blow 80% (now it's 82%), and keep holding it for another 3 years.

I bought a Logitech Combo Touch two months ago, and it works perfectly with the 10.5 pro. Even the keyboard has been sent to do a RMA for some hardware issue.

Can’t see any reason to upgrade to 11 until this cannot be used. Works as perfectly as when new, battery between 82 and 84%, replacement is about 100 GBP so would consider a move then. No way trade-in at poor prices for such a capable device, just hand it down. Also very light with ASK, and cellular makes it perfect for travel (whenever that is).

My 10.5 Pro works fine and is speedy including with iPadOS 14 Public Beta, but the 64 GB storage mine has can be limiting (even after offloading data to iCloud), and the lack of cellular on the road is a bit annoying. I also considered getting the Logitech Combo Touch keyboard trackpad accessory but it turns out it has serious reliability/design issues according to many owners here on MacRumors. Also, I already have the Apple Smart Keyboard and many apps aren’t trackpad optimized yet anyway. I also already have the Pencil and Magic Mouse 2.

I will buy the next 11” (?) Pro with Magic Keyboard, as I want mini-LED, 5G cellular, and 128 GB. USB (including a second USB port for charging on the keyboard), Face ID, and 6 GB RAM will be nice too. The other possibility is getting an iPad Air 4 but that is less likely as I doubt it will have the quad speaker setup.

I will likely keep both, leaving the 10.5 at work on WiFi, and using the new 11” Pro with 128 GB and 5G everywhere else.

I'm using my 10.5 Pro which I've had for just barely over 2 years. The battery seems quite deteriorated but Apple says it's "fine." It's got a dent in the back from where I dropped a TV remote on it, and a couple tiny white spots on the display. I'd love to get an 11" Pro but it's pretty tough to justify the expense. I don't want another iPad with Lightning, so I'm holding out hope for an iPad Air with USB-C.

I thought you had already bought the 2020 Pro 11?

My 10.5 is going strong for 3 year now. Still decent battery life. Added flex keyboard (had pencil) and a MacBook Air base model after lockdown. About 2/3 of the time using the iPad now. The 11" and 12.9" interest me (especially the 12.9") but just too much ding for rearming with the same set-up. When this iPad gives up the ghost I will move to the newer models.

Still running strong, probably will have to replace the battery at the end of this year/beginning of next year.
After all the back and forth trying to decide this years 11” Pro or last years, I can’t really justify replacing my Pro yet........if the rumors are true about next years mini LED and 5G........that makes a lot more sense to wait.

My iPad Pro 10.5 still runs great, battery is still ok, not perfect. Running iPadOS 14 Beta 2 seems to run very snappy. Using Logitech Combo Touch. Don't see myself upgrading anytime in the future, so no reason to when this Pro model iPad still works great and battery replacement would still be cheaper than a new unit.

Apple doesn't replace batteries on iPads. If you pay for battery service, you get a new/refurb iPad.

I’ve had mine for only about 19-20 months and probably won't upgrade until next year. My battery is at 97% capacity and it does everything I need it to do.

I should specify that I am a "multi-ipad" guy. My 10.5 is my main ipad and still going strong. Battery is still at 90%, but it's partly because I use several ipads... I rarely go under 50% charge and when I do, I switch to the 9.7 pro most of the time... Now I am on holiday and I brought the 12.9 and the mini 5. The mini 5 LTE is great for travelling and the 12.9 is best for video watching and browsing... I plan on keeping my ipad 10.5 as my main on the go device (other than on holidays) and my main device at home too for quite a few years to come...I bought a Logitech combo touch but I don't use it on the go, as the cover is too heavy... Actually I now use it almost exclusively with the 12.9 pro.... I won't be buying another ipad until there is a good spec bump. The thing I am mainly waiting for is 8GB RAM...

I have the original iPad Pro 9.7 and got it when it first came out. Still working like a champ with no screen touch issues. I’m holding on to it until it starts failing. Then I’ll get the 11 inch size.

The pencil also still works fine. I am on my second magic keyboard as the first one failed. It was replaced through warranty.

I took over my girlfriend's 10.5 iPad Pro after handing down my 2018 11” iPad Pro to her (I have the new 2020 12.9” with Magic Keyboard with LTE as my portable laptop solution). The 10.5 is going strong and it's my primary home device.

Still going strong with my 10.5. I prefer to have a Khomo back case and the origami apple keyboard to keep it all protected well. I manage to do 90% of my work with mostly Word and Powerpoint, despite their scaled-down ios apps. The one big concern I've discovered since quarantining is the inability to share neither Powerpoint nor Keynote creations during Zoom meetings without major troubles. (And of course, the Zoom app is a bit scaled-down, as well.) Does anyone know if the 2020 iPP has the "horsepower" to successfully accomplish that task?

Still happy with my 10.5 that i've had for nearly 4 years now. My next will be the new 11" iPP and will get the MK to go with it too, and apple pencil too. When will that be? probably end of this year as my birthday/xmas combo gift to myself or sometime next year.
