Great, no issues here. If I did planning on upgrading, I don't know if I'd want to go the Air 2 route or an iPP 11". The 11" is nice, however for what I use my iPad for, I don't know if it's worth the $

That's what I'm holding out for also. I don't wanna spend mega dollars on the LTE version of the 2020 IPP, so I'm waiting to see if the Air 2 rumors are true or if the 10.8 inch model replaces the standard iPad. Will there be an Air 2? We don't know but should find out next month. I always do LTE because I only pay $10 for unlimited and it has come in handy, especially if I lose power like I have a few times...

Right? I basically just use my iPad for light gaming, media consumption, social media and browsing the web. From the reviews I’ve read online, a lot seem to be pleased with the Air that’s out now.. If there are some good sales, I may eventually switch to it but my Pro is working great still and AC+ doesn’t expire till December.

Launch day 10.5 pro here. Had the battery replaced in January when got to 80%. I use it a ton and it still really fast. Would like the next iPad Pro, but will probably hold out for the 11” pro that has the A15x

I had a 64GB 10.5 ipad pro for almost 2 years. a year ago the light spot appeared on the screen. Last month I sold it and took advantage of an amazon offer for a 1TB 2018 ipad pro 11 "for $ 950.

The iPad Air 3 is the current model.

You know what is meant. The current model is just called Air, yes there used to be an Air 1 & Air 2 a few years ago but the current is just called Air and it's likely the next one will just be called the Air also with no number.

After some re-reading and checking other posts for context, sure. However, it's confusing when posts refer to the next version as Air 2 when a product with that specific name was released 6 years ago. The current Air is the iPad Air (3rd generation) and if Apple does release an updated version, then it will likely be iPad Air (4th generation).

The current iPad mini is just called the iPad mini but it's a lot easier to understand what people mean when it's referred to as mini 5. The same shorthand has been used for the basic iPads (iPad 3, 4, 5, 6, 7) since 2012.

I’d love to hear how all you iPad Pro 10.5” users are feeling about your iPad. Is it still serving you well? When do you plan to upgrade next/what will get you to upgrade?

My iPad, in my opinion, still performs as when I first got it. I would love to upgrade to the 11 or even a 12.9 (the 2020 version) but I do not use my iPad enough to justify needing an upgrade, its just a “want”.

I have a launch day 10.5" and was planning on waiting for the Mini-LED expected next year. Unfortunately it fell at work yesterday and has multiple screen cracks. Still works but it is not good. I'm thinking long and hard about the current 12.9 since it's about $300.00 at a minimum for a repair.

If it wasn’t for the fact that I found a really good deal on my 11” Pro, I would still be using my 10.5” Pro. Even though the white spot just started to show, it was very faint, for an iPad at 3 years old, it definitely was still plenty powerful. That thing is still a workhorse.

I would wait for Air 4 if you are just a casual user. That's what I'm waiting on. As much as I want to pull trigger on iPad Pro 2018 or 2020, it's not worth it. I'm just starting to try LumaFusion on it but for most stuff I still cannot do on iPad, I need a full Mac for like Localhost (Mamp Pro). Rumors are and very likely that Air 4 will have current Pro design. And trust me for me I just put it on my cell phone bill and just put taxes down. So I have to talk myself out of the new pro everyday because I know the Air 4 is coming likely in March and that will suffice for what I do. The Pro 10.5 is still excellent for now and has no issues with speed or doing heavy tasks... It has the 120hz display and 4 speakers. I can live with Touch ID.

It still works fine, albeit the slowness is showing. I’m fairly efficient with it using a combination of gestures and keyboard shortcuts, and sometimes the hardware isn’t quite able to keep up. It’s my primary computer when traveling, and right now I’m holding out for a 2021 11” iPad with 5G capability and mini-LEDs to keep pretty well future-proofed for a few more years.

Love the idea of the magic keyboard, but primary goal when traveling international is to pack as light as possible, so might stick with the normal non-magic keyboard.
What do you do with your 10.5 that shows it’s slowness?

Yup, same here on the iPhone side. So oldest kid got an iphone at 10, well youngest is about to turn 10 in January. Have a feeling we may be upgrading around that time to hand down the two "X's" to the kids. Now, the more I see about the iPhone 12, the more I think I become indecisive about upgrading to 12 pro or 11 pro. On one side I want the latest and greatest but if its not much different, I'd rather save money as you know the 11s will drop in price when the 12 drops.

I wouldn’t. Unless you are changing storage or going LTE, the difference to the 2018 is minimal apart from design and unlock method.

Just sold mine today, and I plan on upgrading to the 4th gen 11" iPad Pro. I primarily use my iPad for notes, and I think the new Apple Pencil would make that experience a lot better.

It’s a nice upgrade. I held onto my 10.5 inch pro for 3 years. I wouldn’t have upgraded at all. However one day when I was at work my husband let my 2 year old and 4 year old use my iPad. When I came home they had damaged the charging port. It was still changing but needed the charger inserted a few time’s before it would start charging and if the iPad was moved it stopped charging. For Apple to fix it it would be the price of a replacement iPad. I was quoted £75 by a third party repair shop but I didn’t want to go with a third party repairer. So even though it was still charging I thought it was only a matter of time before it stopped charging. So that’s why I upgraded to the 2018 iPad Pro. It’s a nice upgrade I have to admit.

Years and years. Bought a 10.5” for me and 11” 2018 for gf in the past few months, both refurbs from Apple. Having tried both while the 11” is nice I don’t see any massive advancement to be honest, not for my use case anyway.

Well I pulled the trigger on the 2020 iPad Pro 11 today and sold my iPad Pro 10.5. I wanted to wait for the Air 4 but the price rumors bring it within $100-150 difference only and I'd rather have the Lidar and 120hz. I will miss the 10.5 Pro but will likely love the FaceID a lot better...

Has anyone had a chance to take an Apple Pencil to one of the new nano-texture iMac screens and see what it "feels" like?

The Paperlike writing screen protectors definitely help make writing on the iPad more reasonable, but it took me three tries in a reasonably dust-free room to get a no-dust-motes-underneath application. I really don't want to go through that next time.

The glare protection would be nice too. Glare is worse on the iPad than a desktop computer, since the angle of the iPad is usually more "up" than a computer monitor.
