Test like this are why you never buy an open box or other returned item. Too many of these YouTubers buy something, test it, and return it.

"He didn’t even take his iPad outside"

I told you that was because i made a mistake buying it. It was too big. I just kept it at home until I returned it at almost three months. I've been using my Samsungs outside. I find them - knock on wood - durable.

This place has more ferocious Apple defenders than I would expect - or maybe it's just that Apple fanboys tend to be fanatical ...and not what my suspicious mind sometimes thinks. I mean I would expect a rational person to say something like, "Yes, xx, what you say does make sense, but i prefer my tablets to be as thin and frail as they can be! They're ever so much cuter that way."

Do a google search for "2020 ipad pro still bends" and you'll see an ever growing number of hits from all over the world. It's not just little old "silly, paranoid, fear mongering" me.

I use a tablet at work and I'm not able to baby it. That's the nature of the job. I'd like an Ipad Pro that's a couple of milimeters thicker, made of a thicker or better material, that doesn't easily bend, and has room for a little bigger battery - and an earphone jack! There are probably 2 or 3 other people in the world who would too!

PS Arguing about how thick a computer tablet should be while the whole world burns down!

Such silly reply. You think that thread is all filled with bend cases?

Go count how many ppl WITH actual bending issue. You be surprise. Most of the replies are from people like you who are too paranoid and people like me who have no issue.

Yeah a few reported issues gets people to talk..doesn’t mean it’s a massive issue

We've resorted to insults and name-calling?

How brittle can carbon fiber be, they make tennis rackets out of it? They make airplanes out of it. They make a lot of laptops out of it too. But the easiest and best thing is just to do what I said next, make it a little thicker. What are they, stupid?

They even make sports car wheels out of it. Talk about weight and stress!

Yep - it’s an option for any car. And they come stock on the Mustang GT350.

The point is that carbon fiber isn’t brittle or weak, by any stretch of the imagination. And would be a great lightweight but strong case for the iPad.

I'm sure Apple has looked at the cost/benefit numbers and when it translates into significantly higher profits, they would do it. And not until then. My guess is that those development and retooling costs look good enough to them.

No issues so far for me, been very realiable and excellent battery life, 19 hours on twitch before battery died, not bad at all!

Good news is that you don't have to buy one if you don't want to. These kind of tests would never put me off of buying an iPad.
..and back to the real world where people don't try and destroy their expensive tech.
I know, right? The older I've gotten the the more I realize how stupid these tests are. When am I ever even going to rest something on top of it or let a piece of hair stay on the screen, much less exert anything more than ultra-light force upon it.
Uh. The dude is putting a lot of force. No surprise it will bend/flex. He’s just trying to go viral and get those YouTube views and subs. Who cares.
So much more enlightenment in the forums lately. It's great.

After an unknown bend in my 2018 iPad Pro appeared to lead to a hairline crack across the screen, I have gone back to my 1st gen iPad Pro. I am really appreciating the ability to hold the device comfortably in landscape (how I usually hold it) and Touch ID. Face ID where I hold the device was dumb.

I wish my battery wasn’t toast and the new pencil worded with it.

well, my iPad Pro 2020 12.9” did look like this out of box, for me it’s not a issue as I have AppleCare+ if something’s wrong. But I can’t see the issue for some people as in my eyes this is not bent but I guess that some will say it’s bent?

It's amazing how many "Mac Fanboys" there are that don't get upset at quality issues. You'd think if you were to support a company it would be in good faith rather than telling people "If you don't like it, don't buy it".

These test also are ridiculous though, if you try to break something you will succeed.

Sorry, but I'm not a "Mac Fanboy" - I use PCs and have never been a big Apple fan. I said nothing about not being upset at Apple QC, just stated a simple fact - you're not being forced to buy these products. Vote with your wallet.

I don't mean to be "that guy" but shouldn't this be combined with the sticky thread at the top? I mean we don't really need another one of these.

One hundred million gazillion times this!!!

Still using my 2018 iPad Pro daily. Multiple plane flights. Taken to work everyday in a soft-sided, leather briefcase. Don't treat it any different than i did my original iPad Pro. It's still perfectly flat. Merge this thread with the other one. No one wants to read everyday for the next year and a half how people sit on their iPad, bend it, and it is somehow Apples fault. Merge it with the other thread and all of those people can go in that thread and continue to blame Apple for the damage they caused to their iPad. The rest of us can continue to discuss their iPad in the rest of the forum.
