I kept my air cover. I read that it will not wake the iPad when opened, which is a minor flaw, given that I will use the Touch ID to authenticate, but the question is if you can attach it at all to the new pro?
Can't, the last part of that cover will have magnetic contradiction on the new pro

Yeah, I just read this in another post. Very disappointing. I will buy a non original one, I am not going to give my money to them for what sounds to me like a scam.

I kind f like it. The flap makes it easy to get open unlike the iPad Pro 12 which is flush and I'm always struggling to get it open.
How comes? I ordered a smart cover for my 12.9 Pro and it DOES stick out (and I don't really like it)..

I don't want to be "that guy", but my one is really good.

Works/fits perfectly with the Silicone Case.

I will say that having both the Smart Cover, and Silicone case adds a fair amount of weight.

But I just see that as added protection ...

how much weight is added by the case and the cover?

I do not know, but the trade-off between added weight and added protection, it was a no-brainer for me. The minor amount of added weight for me is a small price to pay for the protection the case and cover provide.

Edit: in my case, my new iPad Pro 9.7 with the silicone case and Smart Cover weighs essentially the same as the Air 1 with Apple leather case that it replaced. The Pro with cases weighs 646 grams, and the Air 1 with case weighs 640 grams. No appreciable difference practically speaking.

This. I got both the silicone case and the smart cover for my iPad Pro 9.7. They fit perfectly together. Astoundingly perfect, actually. I'm quite impressed.

But then again, at £94 it should do!

Glad the set only cost me £14, though ;).

The smart cover weighs 11.84 ounces
I can't find the wait for the silicone case to go on the back but it's a little less than the smart cover

11.84 ounces? That would be 335 grams. Hard to image if you see that the smart Cover from the iPad Air 1 weighty only 102 grams.

I saw the weight of the Smart Keyboard + silicone case in another thread and it basically doubles the weight. I actually love the Smart Keyboard, but don't like how much bulk the silicone case adds. I ordered a full body screen protector from Amazon for $12 and will likely just use the back part and then return the silicone case.

By the way, I have a Smart Case for the Air 2 in Midnight Blue (leather) for sale, if anyone's interested.

Good condition ...

I have the smart case and cover and it is no different than on my Air 2 case fit. I love these and do not see an issue. I have found nothing that I like better. It does take a little more effort to adjust the volume buttons but humans are supposed to be able to adapt.

So, since there is an overlap with the smart case now, does that mean the silicone back case is thicker around the edges now and adds more drop protection?

The smart case and rear cover weighs 191g a little under 8oz (uk)
I hardly notice the difference in weight with the iPad covered or naked.

I like the case and cover, I think they compliment each other and the iPad. Glad I got the case as I think the overhang may annoy me as well after a while.
