Gosh I really hope bezels don’t go away. I find them necessary. Even with really good palm rejection, there are situations where it can’t possibly distinguish between a press and a hold. When apps have touch targets on the edge of the screen (web page clickable links, tool buttons in art apps, etc), how will it know whether you’re holding the iPad with your thumb or long pressing a target? Even IF it gets it right the majority of the time, if there’s even a small chance of pressing a target unwittingly, confidence plummets. I would much rather have a bezel to hold the iPad where I absolutely know there’s zero chance of a press. If they ever decide to ditch bezels (with some form of palm rejection when held), we could expect 12" and 14" iPads with roughly the sizes of the current ones, that would be neat.
Maybe if they were virtual bezels that you and/or the app can choose to turn on/off as needed. I could see turning off the bezels and extending out the screen when watching a long movie with the iPad on a table.
