Not sure where you're located, but in the northeast US the Apple stores have many configurations in stock. Pencil 2 is also in stock. Is it one particular config that's not available near you? Also for shipping for a few of the IPP configs, I only see 2 week ship dates, but 4 weeks for a couple others. It really depends on the config.

Updated: I see the news item now that more stores are being closed, so it sounds getting to a store is not going to be an option again.

Looks like on B&H Photo that some of the models are no longer in stock too.
 
I recently picked up a 12.9” but had to shop around a bit to find one in stock in the config I wanted. Was a bit surprised to be honest, but I guess lockdown has increased demand dramatically at a time where supplies are constrained.

Bingo plus me wanting to buy one rubbed off on people to get one too. That normally happens.

Just ordered a 12.9 from Apple last night. Won’t get it until a month from now though. August 4-11th is the expected delivery date. I would have gone elsewhere but wanted to use the education discount and trade in my 2018 11 inch. So I guess I’ll just have to wait.

Order 12.9 256GB with Magic Keyboard 06/16 no updates from Apple.

Estimated delivery date for the keyboard is 06/02-06/10.
Estimated delivery date for the iPad is 06/09-06/17.

Looks like I've still got a bit of waiting to do.

Replacing my original iPad Pro 12.9 though, super excited :D

I just picked up my IPP 11 cellular the other day. I just walked into my local ATT store and purchased it and walked out. Easy for me for once. Maybe try a carrier store if you want cellular.

If one plans to stay with their current carrier that kind of purchase works. However, buying from the carrier means that other cellular plans from other competing cellular companies is not an option in the settings menu. With an Apple purchase, one can pick from T-Mobile, Verizon, ATT&T, and Sprint. You wont see all those options with a cellular locked device purchased from a carrier.

I've been in the market for a 12.9" 256gb space gray model for a while now, and Apple was really my only option because I wanted to take advantage of the back-to-school promo. I tried my luck yesterday at the Michigan Avenue Apple Store in Chicago, but no luck. Interesting thing to note though is that the in-store availability the specialist gave me didn't seem to line up at all with what I saw online as available for in-store pickup. For example, she told me they had a 12.9" 128gb silver model in-stock, but that was nowhere to be found online.

I ended up ordering online and will just wait it out until my Aug 5-12 delivery estimate... Womp womp.

About a week ago I decided to get a n !!” iPad Pro WiFi 128GB with Magic Keyboard. Searched Best Buy and they had both locally and I picked them up. Within a day I went back to check for my wife and they had none of either 11” or 12.9” anywhere in my area. Quick sell out.

Looks like my iPad Pro WiFi 12.9 and Magic Keyboard shipped!

iPad will be delivered Friday and the keyboard tomorrow. Originally ordered both on 06/16.
 
Ordered 12.9” iPP on June 26. Expected ship date was and still is August 5 to my home in North Carolina. Kinda disappointing but my 12.9” 1st Gen iPP is still chugging along. Bought from Apple to get a discount and trade in, and device will be already registered and Apple Care applied with no further action on my part.

Works just fine. Mine is not locked to att. I can use it on any carrier. Only the embedded sim is locked to att. The physical sim is not. You can use any carriers sim card just fine.

I ordered my iPad Pro 11 on July 2nd, and it's supposed to arrive between August 4th to 11th.
Configuration: 11 inch, 128 GB, Space Gray, WiFi Only. It's still processing, so I guess my model is currently not available for shipping.

Hi, I ordered my 11” 256 GB IPP on July 6 along with the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil. The Pencil Arrived today, even though it was Quoted July 22-29. The Magic Keyboard and IPP are still stuck on “Processing” though. I did get the IPP Engraved, so maybe that’s why it is Processing for so long. The Magic Keyboard is Quoted to arrive July 15-22 and the IPP is Quoted to arrive August 5-12.
