So my Best Buy order for the 12.9 256GB WiFi+Cellular was supposed to be delivered today. I paid an extra $23 for express shipping for it to come today and it’s not coming until Thursday! Ughhhh. I guess two more days won’t kill me since I’ve been waiting for 22 days. Hoping it can come soon so I can cancel my Apple order so someone else can get their sooner!
Oh and my Case and Apple Pencil came today. 😒 So now I get to sit and stare at those while waiting for my iPad. ☹️

Howcomes the iPad is out of stock buying directly from Apple, however Amazon(actual amazon not another seller) have the iPad in stock? Is it safe to buy the iPad from Amazon?
You need to be aware that Amazon's return policy for electronics is quite a bit different than Apple's. With Apple you can return it no questions asked within the 14-day period, but to return it to Amazon it has to be unopened, DOA or damaged from shipping.

Computers and Electronics
  • New desktop, laptops, or tablets (excluding Kindle E-readers and Fires) purchased from Amazon.com that didn't start when they arrived, arrived in damaged condition, or is still in an unopened box can be returned for a full refund within 30 days of purchase.
  • Amazon.com may test computers that are returned because they didn't start when they arrived and impose a customer fee equal to 15 percent of the product sales price if the customer misrepresents the condition of the product.
  • Any returned desktop, laptop or tablet that is damaged through customer misuse, is missing parts, or is in unsellable condition due to customer tampering may result in the customer being charged a higher restocking fee based on the condition of the product.
  • New, used, and refurbished products purchased from Marketplace vendors are subject to the returns policy of the individual vendor.

If you're not getting the promised express shipping date, Best Buy will sometimes refund that cost. It's worth contacting them to ask.

Is it worth getting the one with mobile data?

All of the Wifi 12.9 models are sold out in London and the earliest delivery is mid October, however the iPad with mobile data is in stock....
Is it true that version has bending issues as opposed to the wifi model only?

Honestly, I’ve been researching this bending issue a lot. I’ve been reading others experiences with this and watching videos. The WiFi or Cellular part doesn’t matter, they’ll both bend. What’s causing the bend is the aluminum. It’s so thin to keep the weight of the iPad “light” plus with the microphone holes and USB points drilled in, it makes a weak spot. As long as you keep your IPP in a sturdy case, you’ll be fine.

Oh I am! But I’m waiting till this evening So they can’t say it still might come. It just arrived in Knoxville and that’s 3 hours from me and my USPS just ran. I messaged them yesterday and they assured Me it would be here today. I can’t believe I paid for express and they only shipped it as priority mail with only $100 insurance! So yeah they definitely need to refund me that money.

Ahhhhhh! My iPad just arrived!
I’m still not opening it because my little sister wants to unbox it with me, so I’m waiting for her to finish her classes.

It. Is. Taking. So. Much. Self. Control. For. Me. Not. To. Open. The. Box. 😭

Just admire the beautiful Apple packaging in the meantime while you wait. I always like to do that before opening a new Apple product. 😜

We were talking about out of the box bends. Both have the same Structural “Rigidity”, but when they Mill the Antenna Lines for the Cellular Model at the factory, during the Aluminum Cooling process it Contracts slightly, thus causing a bend. That’s how they were bent out of the box.

Ahhh the out of box bends. I haven’t been researching that, I’ve seen some articles on it. But I’ve mostly been looking up the bending over time.

Oh wow I need to bare that in mind
But tbh I would only return it if it is faulty..... I don't need a 14 days test run.

You guys are noobs, get my level. Unboxing Apple products is no longer fun, I am awaiting a $1k iPad, and have unboxed $4k worth of MacBook Pros, $1.4k worth of iPhone, $800 worth of iWatch $300 worth of AirPods, and $5k worth of display all in the last month. this is starting to get too much for me to handle

Well, I unboxed a Lamborghini, a nuclear sub, and space shuttle last month. And I still get excited about unboxing an iPad. So there's that ...

😤 USPS tracking sucks. It lags so bad. My IPP will arrive at a USPS distribution center at 9:33 AM but not show me on the website until 6 PM. 😩 I hope it makes it to my local post office tomorrow before close, so I can pick it up and not have to wait another day. Come on Apple 🍎 gods, don’t fail me now!
