ALSO IT’S GETTING A BIT QUIET AROUND HERE.

So you know how I had a slightly damaged magic keyboard? Well, after a long wait on the phone...

THEY REPLACED IT (or are replacing it)

I suppose “Pending” is a nicer way of saying ”Processing”. They must have known about our struggles.

I don’t know when it will arrive, Apple’s retail website says that if you buy a Magic Keyboard it will come next tuesday.

But, I did use one of my AppleCare+ Claims (oops) and I did get an EXPRESS REPLACEMENT.

Sounds Intimidating.

I really hope it arrives this weekend. Then I can have a new keyboard! Yay.

The most painful thing about this experience is probably me taking off the (as of now) 20-Day old dbrand skins off my Magic Keyboard.

Oh, and also the $300 AUTHORIZATION HOLD ON MY DEBIT CARD.

Ouch.

I “miss” waiting for things to arrive from apple. Lol.


I guess we have a new catchphrase....

Ah, ok so it was after the phone call. I could almost swear you did a chat though with Support recently and they had already agreed to replace it. Did that happen too?

Express Replacement is a good service and you understand why they're doing the hold.

Pending, eh? LOL ... it's all good news. By the way a little tip about taking off your current skin is to get a roll of wax paper to put them on.

I thought they were going to replace it and you wouldn’t have to use one of you AppleCare+ claims? Sorry this is happening to you.

OK, I looked for it anyway. @DiamondarBoss, in this post from yesterday, you said you contacted Support via chat and they had already advised they would send a replacement:

I did, and guess what! They are offering a free Warranty replacement, and not taking any of my AppleCare+ claims. So today after work, I’m gonna chat with them again and they’ll mail me a replacement! So happy. But one thing that’s not great, is that I’m gonna have to buy another dbrand skin. :/

That's why it's confusing ...

I didn’t get around to doing that. Also, it was going to be a warranty replacement but I would have to send this back first, then wait, then get it mailed back. So I used AppleCare+ to get the Express Replacement. Also, if they are weird and put it under “Accidental Damage” when they inspect it, I won’t have to pay $300. Instead I’ll be paying $29. Or something. Idk.

I swear you cannot live without waiting apple packages ?. But it’s nice to hear you had express replacement let’s wait to find out how express it is.??

I thought they were going to replace it and you wouldn’t have to use one of you AppleCare+ claims? Sorry this is happening to you.
My ipad pro is not showing through apple support replacement status page. Its just showing on the order page. And still processing....

@DiamondarBoss, a little trick I use is to have both the Fedex and UPS apps on my devices so I can view incoming shipments sometimes before I get a notification. I accidentally found out this way about a surprise birthday present being sent -- oops!

Express is usually overnight though. Are you sure you're not getting a delivery today?
When I finished with apple support and they started it, it was like ~6pm. So I don’t think it is delivery today.

We'll send you the replacement product right away. You'll get an email with tracking information after the product has shipped.

That’s what the email they sent me said about shipping. I haven’t gotten an email with tracking information. So I guess I’m on Processing, or Preparing to Ship then.
