Y’all have me beat, lol. I’m a mere amateur. I do, however, believe that the carrier pigeon carrying @MaxGolden12 ’s iPad had a broken wing. 😁
I completely Agree.

Seeing you guys receive your pretty iPads makes me so excited for mine, which makes the wait feel a lot more excruciatingly long than it already is 😭.

I took a two week vacation to the west coast right before the start of my delivery window which helped pass the time to some degree because I didn't exactly wanted it to end, despite the fact I had a new iPad to look forward to shortly after I got back. 😄

Yeah, I can’t help but wonder if we’ll be going through this again when the new iPhones come out in a couple of months. We can have a reunion! 🤣

I just bought a brand new Galaxy S20 back in March so I doubt I'll join in on the upcoming iPhone 12 frenzy, as much as I'd love to. But maybe for the upcoming Apple Watch Series 6 or next year for the iPhone 13!

Hey! I'm just getting really antsy about the arrival of my iPad, even though I still have 3-4 weeks before I even make it into my arrival window. But I was wondering (if you remember) when/how close was it to your arrival window when your iPad moved from "processing" to "Preparing to ship"?

I want to call Apple and ask when I can expect movement, but I think it wouldn't help since it's only been two weeks since I've even placed my order.

I ordered mine at the 3rd of August, ETA 25th to 1st of September. Yesterday it finally changed from "processing" to "preparing to ship".

At around 2PM yesterday it finally shipped, and is supposed to deliver to my home in around 4 hours or so.

I wonder if anyone can give us info on how accurate the estimated date on the apple website is once it's shipped. I'm trying not to get too hopeful on it arriving early 😂

Apple said 8/28 for me but I got mine today (8/27). They had the same date for my Pencil but I got that on Tuesday (8/25). I would trust UPS's scheduled delivery date once it's shipped instead of Apple's.

Hi all,

I ordered my IPP on August 13th, with the delivery window from 4-11 September. It's still stuck on processing....do you think it'll arrive in time? I'm a bit worried it'll arrive after the delivery window if it's coming from China and they are still processing the order. I'm in Germany. :)

Thanks!

It will most likely Ship from somewhere in Europe, as that’s what other people had happen. I wouldn’t worry too much, Apple 95% of the time delivers in the Delivery Window.

Two days with this thing and I’m in love!

The battery: Seems to be pretty dang decent — During my first 24 hours with it I was downloading a lot of stuff which made it drain quickly, but yesterday I left it unplugged all day and while using it heavily, was at about 30% by the time I plugged it in in the evening.

The cellular: This is the whole reason I did this, and honestly — I wish I had done it in the heart of quarantine. Having another “always on” device in the house would have made things so much easier (I live just outside of cable modem range — I can literally see where it ends from my front porch but can’t get it, so I’ve run through everything from hotspots, to satellite (never, ever do that to yourself!) to what I have now — ATT Fixed Wireless, which is fantastic but still comes with a data cap. ATT Fixed charges you when you go over the data cap (It’s generous). But when it comes to cellular data — ATT’s unlimited policy is the *MAY* slow you down if your tower is congested, but the perk of living in Northern Michigan is — your tower is never congested. This will be a game changer if I end up trapped and working my education job from home with my wife and kids again.

The screen: Honestly, right after it shipped I started to go “I should have gotten the 11 inch”. That regret is gone. I’m 6’4” so this thing just naturally seems to be a scaled iPad for a scaled human. BONUS: If I throw it in the backseat to my daughters on a road trip they’ll feel like they’re watching an IMAX movie since they currently use an iPad mini for that.

The Magic Keyboard: I like it. Really shows the fingerprints on the front though. 48 hours in and the case looks like I’ve had it for a year.

Usage: I have not done any video editing yet, and only begun to play around in Affinity Design and Photo (I’ve had their iPad apps since they went on sale in March but have really only used the desktop variety).

Laptop replaceability: I have decided to do what I did when I threw away my last PC 11 years ago and bought my first Mac — I’m going to commit to using it all week next week at work and see where I’m at on Friday. I have a majorly spec‘ed out MacBook Pro I bought last year and I’m never getting rid of that, but as I move from classroom to classroom, and school to school, this is probably going to be the portability I need on the regular.

The screen protector mishap: I’m beginning to wonder why this had a carved notch at all on it. Even with the glass over top of the camera and fingerprint smudges, FaceID hasn’t let me down once. Ohhhh, Zagg.

Those of you waiting for yours — it’s amazing!

Hope you won't be throwing it anywhere! 😆

Many of us have put skins (DBrand, Sopiguard) on our MKs and that helps tremendously with fingerprints. Mine is a Sopiguard black forged carbon. Can't see any smudges or fingerprints in the 3 months I've had it. It made all the difference.
