Along with a new display, better M chips at that time with improved battery efficiency will be a welcome. I feel my ipad m1 12.9 battery drains fast without even using many apps. Could be the screen display maybe but who knows. I do like to watch photos and videos on it as the display is indeed vibrant!

well I have the 12.9" M1 ... the miniLED is great in terms of brightness and HDR playback ... but the blooming is not ideal tho and it's a little blueish when watching from angle ... OLED is better at that

looking forward for microLED

I can’t speak for the M1, but on the M2 Pro, blooming is kept to a minimal. And I don’t notice any blueish effects from an angle. I personally wouldn’t trade the slight blooming for a dimmer display.

This could be the one I’m waiting for. Too much to ask to get the front camera on a landscape side? And maybe a color? The pros are boring as beige.
Where would Apple Pencil go? Charge at the opposite side of the camera?

I guess I’m not buying a MacBook Pro until 2027 then. I’ll just pray that my 16” 2019 one gets supported for another four years. Now I have to worry about my MacBook Pro becoming obsolete within the next four years.

The OLED on a MBP will only be marginally better than the display on current MBPs. These hit 1600 nits, have just as perfect blacks and the halo effect is almost not noticeable in real life. The only major advancement will be the lack of motion blur, but, on the other hand, just wait when people start complaining that 24fps movies and videos look choppy because of that (OLED TVs have motion smoothing, I doubt MBPs will).

Tldr - I really don’t think OLEDs are a reason to wait 5 more years. Current MacBooks are such a leap from the Intel ones, I doubt we’ll ever see such a jump again anytime soon. My advice to anyone still waiting to get on board would be to get the M3 Macs when they are out.

I rather have a Vision Pro than another iPad. I sometimes go weeks without using my iPad. I use my MBP and iPhone and iMac all the time.

Personally, I’d rather have an iPad than a lawn mower. I never use a lawn mower as I don’t have a lawn.

I think with a little extra engineering, they’ll fit the camera and charging magnet up there together.
One of which will likely be off-center and neither looks good Imo. Also, those “little bit of engineering“ can be proven difficult or just impossible. We don’t know.

I believe the current iPad Pro RAM tops out at 16gb (yes?). Is it likely, that M3 based iPad Pros will support more RAM?

I’ve just no reason to replace my 2018 iPad Pro at the moment. Still a very capable machine. I bought it that December and intended to do plenty of work on it but I gave up within a year thanks to iPadOS and its sh*tty rigid multitasking interface that just cripples any kind of serious work for me. Since then it’s made a fantastic consumption device. I imagine the regular iPad or the Air will be the one for me next time.

Probably keep the same design or maybe the curved rear edge. The increase in screen size with less bezel all around with a camera cut out like the MacBook Pro. Every new gen Apple product with a screen has a cut out to increase the size, except the iPad.

Increasing the actual physical size just to have a 13" will disrupt manufacturing and esp accessories.

Whoever said they need 2 of the same camera has no clue. A product have a redundant feature is plain stupid.

The camera will stay the same and Apple Pencil. If they move the front facing camera on the top of landscape, then the Apple Pencil will have to move to the left of the iPad Pro, but can't bc of the speakers and Obviously can't on the right bc of the USB C Port. So again, placement of AP and Front Facing Camera will stay the same.

I am waiting on a 15" iPad Pro though.

I'll revised my thoughts.

I measured the iPad Pro 12.9"

It has a 5/16" bezel.

Spacing from bottom of front facing camera is 3/16".

Spacing from top of front facing camera is 1/32"

So there's enough space to stretch the current 12.9" to 13" with the camera that needs to move closer to the metal border and make it smaller for it to comfortably fit without a camera cut out.

My reent 12 inches ipad pro is relegated due to its high weigh. I keep using my 2017 ipad pro just because of that factor.

This is what all 2018 owners have been waiting for, the real next generation and worthy upgrade.

OLED, new design, M3, and landscape FaceTime camera.

Just give us some NEW colours and not middle aged man space grey.

What a time to be alive.

I would love to have an 13" iPad but I don't need the "pro" for school. Just the bigger screen as a teacher in class. This one will be probably super expensive.

Agree 100% - they really need to bring the landscape camera forward from the iPad 10, along with the Magic Keyboard Folio - it just makes it so much better of a productivity device than the "floating in the air" Magic Keyboard.
