Ugh. This guy is a total drama queen. He wasn't banned from the store, he is just not allowed to buy 60 ipads. OMG THE HORROR.

God forbid one of the customers who actually lives here and wants an ipad should be able to get it before he decides to take it upon himself and supply europe with them before apple does.

That's not a need, that's a want/desire.

And last I checked, there's nothing in the U.S. Constitution guaranteeing that just because you have enough money to buy something, that you have the right to purchase it. So suck it up and accept the conditions that Apple is putting on this product for the time being, or take your business elsewhere. Just like the Flash issue, whining about this isn't going to change a damn thing.

I don't know whose comments you're responding to, but I am neither whining nor quoting the Constitution.

Meh.

The guy bought 14 - 14! - iPads, selling $499 iPads for $650 and claiming he was doing "favors" for "friends."

Granted, he apparently wasn't aware of the policy until the event described here. But common sense should tell you that with any hard to get item, buying 14 is being a greedy little piglet.

His encounter with the store employees sounds like the employees were following their script as well as they could, while the guy asked them the same questions they obviously couldn't answer over and over.

Wow, you took the time to count the number of iPad's in the last photo but could not even take the time to read the message beneath it. You fell right into what he was trying to prove with that photo.

Complete ownage.

It's cute that you guys think I counted the iPads in the last photo (which I suppose means you counted them?), but actually, I misread the Apple employee referring to "the 14th". It was a date, I thought it was a count. Now say "oh snap!!!!" a few more times between visits to lolcats. :)

Curious as why people are hating on this guy? He saw an oppurtunity to make extra money on the side and he took it. He was doing nothing illegal, what is your issue with that?

Many people want the iPad and he is taking away opportunities for others to buy. This is a "free" market so he can buy whatever he wants, but Apple is also free to BAN him! ha ha ha ha ha

1 - he's free to profiteer an item in short supply
2 - Apple is free to block him from doing so
3 - anybody else is free to look askance at him for doing so
4 - Apple employees are free to do their jobs without having some breakdown due to this guy staring blankly at him, or whatever he thought was going to happen due to asking them the same question over and over

I did the same thing he did, and was eventually cut off from the store. No hard feelings, I understand that it's their store and they can have whatever policies they want.

It was a nice run though. Bought 30+ iPads, sold some to friends, some on eBay.

Before the haters bash on me: I am in the Army and our pay is not the highest so I will definitely do extra work on the side to provide for my family.

Actually, the truth is that you read it wrong, plain and simple. If you really DID read the story, he states (twice) that he bought 5 iPads in total. Not to mention that the paragraph immediately after the first mention of "the 14th" was the author recollecting "April 14th" as in "April 14th was my last trip to the Apple store".

Now, what's wrong with lolcats? :)
