iPad shipped, Apple just sent out tracking numbers!

Got the email from APPLE saying I'd be delayed until monday b/c no sat delivery in my area. But tracking info says it just arrived at my destination hub this AM. Called the Int'l Shipping line to UPS and it says Out for Delivery!

YES! Though I won't believe it until I see the brown man. But check the phone system for more up to date then the online.

That happened also once with a battery pack I needed before a trip. And also with a camera I ordered from BH.

And then of course we get 1-2 packages a week that were meant for other people. At some point you just have to fire all the drivers and start over. There's a culture of "Who the f* cares, just drop the package somewhere" going on.

Hopefully that doesn't happen again today!

Well you have to sign... and if it doesn't match the recipient, then no delivery :)

I do but UPS told me they couldn't release it until after the first delivery attempt. I spent most of the afternoon trying to reroute or let me p.u. We're stuck waiting until Monday it appears.

Any reason for me to be concerned? It is now 930am here and I still have no destination scan or out for delivery notice.
 
The tracking information finally updated from GUANGZHOU, CN overnight. I fear my iPad will be flying back to China Monday. The last scan shows it arriving at the distribution center one town away at 8:52AM this morning. That means it likely missed the trucks going out on their runs. Which means no delivery today. Which means a Monday attempt at delivery. Which means I won't be there to sign for it. Oh well, it's a nifty little computer but I'm not gonna take time away from my job to sit around and wait for a UPS truck on a weekday.


Scratch the above.....UPS guy just rang the doorbell @ 10:25 AM. :D

I must sign off now to do the happy dance. Good luck to all of you today.

I remember when we had the big snow storm my fiance ordered a bunch of Vday stuff which took like 10 days to show up. UPS claimed that they cant deliver due to road conditions, problem was the roads were COMPLETELY EFFIN CLEAR and FedEx was delivering packages left and right. I avoid UPS like plague but certain merchants either don't give you the FedEx option or charge you an arm and leg for the overnight delivery :(

It says out for delivery, but it still may not deliver until Monday.

But Good luck though :)

Haha well I ordered March 12th at 11:30 PDT. And someone earlier yesterday said they ordered at 5:30 on the 12th and they got it... so I am assuming since they are going by order number that I will be getting it sometime next week.

But I am ordering a casemate case for my Mom's (this WiFi one) and when mine comes I am going to use the Apple case, unless I don't like it or I find a better one, which I will then buy and return the Apple one :)

I've read a lot of griping about UPS and gnashing of teeth, and in the end, what they have to pull off to deliver these devices is pretty incredible.

So, as Apple fans, let's make sure that other companies aren't annoyed by us, and give a big shout out to UPS for being a part of this today.

Hmm odd, i think id feel a little safer if my tracking at least said destination scan, though its only about an hour away, just not at my local hub.
 
Magic Monday Folks Sticking Around???

Well, just confirmed I will 100% get mine Monday. So... I guess I am off to enjoy the nice weather. Hopefully some of my Magic Monday comrades will be on the thread tomorrow or Monday to continue the support group.

Congrats to all the city dwellers now reading this post on their iPad :p:D

Oh well I'm fine with that. I have to go pick up another package at the usps. I was going to sign the form so they could leave it without me there but I'm paranoid. It gives me two more days to convert some videos. You wouldn't be selling a mac mini would you?

Yeah, that didn't quite work with the $8k camera order they left at some random house on the street in the rain with no signature even though BH requires a signature.

This must be the worst UPS crew on earth around here.


Well, the house wasn't random I guess. It was two digits transposed from my address. But clearly the driver couldn't give a flying you-know-what even though BH puts those big orange "YOU MUST GET A SIGNATURE" stickers on the boxes.
 
Why the hell would it land in Miami and then go all the way to Islamorada if i'm in Miami Beach?!?!:mad:
 
Mine just arrived at my local hub in DOVER, NH around 10:00AM EST.

I called UPS, the automated lady said it was on it's way. I asked for customer support, and got a nice recording that said "If you're calling about the Apple iPad, if Saturday delivery is available in your area you will receive your package by the end of the day. Refer to your Apple shipment notification to see if you're in this area."

I then talked to someone, and they again reiterated it would be delivered today by end of day.

Guess all I can do is sit back, relax, and wait....:rolleyes:

Miami Beach - sweet!

My family and I went down there for a week this past July - had a BLAST.
And that is where my dad got his iPhone 3GS at the Apple store down in SoBe :D
