My impressions after a full day of using my iPhone 11 Pro:
  • The matte back looks gorgeous on the Space Gray model
  • Display is noticeably brighter, especially in direct sunlight, I like that.
  • It’s fast. My iPhone Xs was already fast, and while it certainly isn’t a very noticeable difference, it absolutely is a bit quicker here and there. I am a bit disappointed that Apple didn’t include an additional 2 GB of RAM, but if they do polish their software over time, I’m pretty sure the current 4 GB is sufficient enough.
  • The cameras. Oh my God, the cameras. They’re amazing. I’m in love with the ultra wide angle lens, and Night Mode. Even some ‘Samsung friends’ of mine who were at first like “Jeez, that camera bump looks uglyyyy” were perplexed by the output results of the sensors.
  • Battery life has been great so far. It’s much, much better than my iPhone Xs’s. Will have to try out further as my usage patterns goes back to normal.
  • I have run into some bugs on iOS 13, so I’m definitely installing iOS 13.1 immediately the moment it is released.
So far I am really glad I went for the iPhone 11 Pro. Especially the camera makes up for a good upgrade IMHO.

Phone is a fail because of the weight. If I want to carry a brick around, I will join the construction crew outside.

What the heck is Apple thinking? It’s crazy.

They got tired of people complaining about battery life. heavier phone = great battery..... With all of the components if people want long battery life they have to deal with a heavier phone. Can't have it both ways.

I love pretty much everything about my 11 Pro Max - the only thing that feels slightly off to me is the color temperature while taking photos.

As soon as you open the Camera app, everything looks overly warm - almost tinted. What's odd is, while the pictures taken do look warmer than those taken with my Xs Max, they do not look as warm as the preview shows with the 11 Pro Max Camera app.

Not sure if this makes sense, it's the best way that I can explain what I am seeing.

Seriously in every post of yours, nothing is good enough or you just rip Apple. I get that you're entitled to your own opinion, but if you're that dissatisfied with their products, you don't need to purchase them. Or maybe you're just a negative person with a negative outlook on things in general. If that's the case, I feel sorry for you. The world can be a great place, open your mind and enjoy. End of sermon.

Has anyone tried night mode on a really dark place with just moonlight as the only light source and actually get results like this on a DSLR?

Nice shot! The Night mode looks impressive. I am a little curious how the phone photos look using certain apps with manual controls.

How it can capture high ISO's, long 10-15 second exposures similar to this photo. I'd love to see an article from someone pushing the new phone camera to the limits.

Consider the ringke fusion case. Have it on my 11 pro max. Not sure how much protection will give on concrete drops but it’s quite thin and helps make the phone feel less bulky to me.

Ordered, thanks for the recommendation. I need protection from scratching the phone more than anything else, not drops. I am basically very very careful with my iphones. Most drops come because people are doing more than just using their phone, like women in supermarkets. Hehe.

Coming from a 7+ it’s definitely heavy and large but I’ve gotten used to in after the weekend. Most people have spoken about the cameras and speed but my god the speakers are amazing. It’s freaky how it mimics a surround sound system. It’s not perfect surround sound but the fact that it comes from tiny phone speakers is amazing. If feels almost like a ventriloquism trick.

Thank you!
IMO, it's on par with DSLR and mirrorless now. When I get a chance on a clear skies, I'll definite get some Milky Way shots using night mode

Battery life, fast charging, and display on the 11 Pro Max (reading on the beach the last few days, something I could never do with any other iPhone) have been amazing. Going caseless after many years feels great.

Just to confirm are people with the pro or pro max having rough edges where the glass meets the metal?

I swapped my Pro for a Pro Max today. My edges are a little sharp toward the bottom of the phone, but not enough for me to care to swap out another iPhone.

Ok, so it’s been a little over 20 hours with my 11 Pro Max. Here are my initial thoughts:

- OMG! This Silver is so beau-T-full!! 🥰 Silver is da best color! She’s so pretty! This frost back is just lovely! These stainless steel bands, so sleek and classy!

- Ok, some people really need to work out or eat some Wheaties. I’m not understanding the “too heavy“ commentary. I carry my phone in my hand a lot and I’m fine, but okay. Very little - and I mean minuscule - difference between the two in grip.

- No scratches, no scuffs, no cracks, no jagged or rough edges, no lint/dust under the screen/camera lens - QC on exterior is good.

- Oh shoot, fast charging brick! I can charge up before my flight. Clutch Apple, about dang time!

- Screen is pretty bright. Me likes so far.

- I like this update process... welp, Verizon! Spoke too soon!

- Ok, my screen really does look nice. Sharper than the XS Max actually. Slightly warm, but True Tone. No big deal. Screen is even and bright at not even half brightness. Better than my XS Max there. This is very good.

- Scrolling is a breeze, apps execute quickly. 3D Touch is fine. No complaints here.

- Hmm, no difference in signal strength, but no problem here at home. Let’s wait to see until we get to our final destination.

- Wait, pictures! It’s night! Snap, snap! Woah, Night Mode is real! I can get behind this. Wait, some noisy pics... what’s happening?? Try again tomorrow.

- Let’s get to work - battery countdown begins from 100% - no juice today!

- FaceID happens so quickly. I barely see the lock on the phone, just the unlock.

- Signal strength remains the same in some areas, but better in others - I’ll take it. WiFi at work is iffy, but fine in hotel, hmmm. Continue to monitor...

- Google Maps Navigation, music, phone calls, web surfing, emails, social media, Amazon order, more calls, more emails, social media, texts, notifications, GM Navigation again, app updates, pictures again! 14 hours and at 60% - wow!!

- Night Mode Pics Take 2 - A lot better. Learn to take pics on this new phone, Naturalstar! Night Mode remains awesome. Can’t wait to take more pics!

So far, I’m very pleased with this 11 Pro Max. I’m treating it no differently than my XS Max before, other than no charging during the day for battery testing purposes. The experience continues.

First impressions?
Damnnnnnn the battery life! This is the first iPhone I’ve had where I’ve not charged it overnight. It finished its first full 24 hours with 40% after the day of usage, and now it’s beginning day 3 with just over 50%. Very impressive.

I’ve not used the camera much, but switching between lenses feels sluggish compared to previous multi-lens iPhones.

Do I miss 3D touch? Hell yeah! But mostly for the keyboard and WhatsApp chat previews. For everything else dare I say it, haptic touch actually feels more intuitive? And this is someone that has loved 3D Touch from the start.

Overall it feels marginally, but measurable quicker and snappier than my prior XS Max, but that could also be ios13. I’m sure come iOS 14 it will feel like the XS did...

Can confirm rough edges on front and back of both sides.

My first impressions Silver Pro Max:

Coming from the XS Max it is not a big step but there are still some points I like and dislike so far:

  • the frosted white on the back looks great
  • but it is more slippery than the XS Max back in my opinion
  • camera looks much better than expected, I do think it looks the best on the silver model
  • mine has rough edges where the glass meets the front and back
  • screen is more yellow compared to my xs max which was already quite yellow
  • with auto brightness on the xs max is brighter in direct light, with auto brightness off the 11 pro gets brighter. any ideas?

A few more impressions:
- FaceID is crazy fast.
- can’t really see how it supports wider angle FaceID like Apple claims. I still have to hover over the phone when it’s lying flat on the desk.
- a few others have reported that the screen seems to be more yellow when out side by side against the XS Max under same settings and brightness.
Try turning off attention in Face ID that way eyes don’t need to be looking directly at phone.
