Looking through the specs, my current X only betters the 6.1” Non Pro in Digital Zoom (I don’t use, in fact I despise it) & Optical Image Stabalisation in two lenses (though the 12 has no Telephoto Lens).

They’re no huge deal to me, so the standard iPhone 12 6.1” pretty much has the X covered.

That plus the lighter, thinner, smaller form factor of the 12 makes it a winner, & I can can go 128GB, as I’ve only used 98GB of the 256GB I was forced to have in the X.

I can't decide between 12 and 12 Pro... Please help!!! I like the look of the pro with matte finish but it's 200$ more expensive here... The other features are nice to have but not really that important to me...

The shiny sides of the Pro models attract finger prints a lot.
At least my X often looks terrible after just picking it up, lol

I prefer the bright blue of the regular 12 over the metallic of the 12 Pro. But, as someone above said, to compare the 128gb of both models is "only" around $120 difference. I'm debating between the two, based on if I want the higher re-sell value down the road of the Pro.
Of course, as I'm not a yearly upgrader (I'm upgrading from a 7 Plus), by the time I replace this phone, the value of either will likely be so low that it won't matter.

I’m having a bit of a dilemma. I’m torn between the Red 12 and Graphite 12Pro. I want the 12 Red (my favorite color) but it looks cheap and not the deep red from previous versions. The Graphite 12Pro is classy looking and more my taste. Ugh, I don’t kno what to do.

I was thinking the same, red is my favorite color as well but i'm not a fan of the shade of Product Red this year. Much prefer the darker shade on previous models. The Pro models look more professional and premium especially the graphite and blue.

Sounds like you know exactly what to do.

So agreed! I may just get the Pro. 🤦🏽‍♂️

I think we need an intervention to help us decide.

I am going with the Pro even though the differences are relatively minor this time. I had second thoughts when several YouTubers kept going on about how you were paying $200 more for stainless steel sides and a bit better camera, but for the 256GB model I was considering it’s “only” $120 different.

The gap is closer to spending the extra for the pro value wise this year, unless you just want a different colour or a lighter/cheaper phone.

Paying more on a smartphone just for the colour isn’t what I’d call a smartdecision. 😏

Just get the 12 in black & bank the 💵.

It's even a harder decision when you want 128GB of storage? Base model 12 Pro, or mid tier 12? Price isn't that much difference either. $879 vs $999 I believe?

Unlike 2019 iPhones which there is huge gap between 11 and 11 Pro model. $300 cheaper, bigger display (albeit Retina LCD)

After having a 11 pro for a year I wouldnt get either, especially the 12, mini or max or nothing.

for me the 12 is too close to my 11 pro and I had a Xr before it and wasn’t a fan size wise.
Ok, I get that, but it just seemed strange that either of the other extremes were suitable. Would’ve thought you could only go one way after finding the middle no good.

Or if £799 is your absolute maximum then the Pro isn’t worth that extra £200 on top. The 12 is a very capable phone and I think some techy types are forgetting that. Feature wise there are very few differences when scrolling down through the Apple comparison sheet and I think it’ll suit many people fine.

I agree the non-pro 12 seems too expensive and too close to the 12 pro. They’re up selling people for sure which they’ve mastered the art.

Yep.. that comes from the fact that all Pro base models bumped up to 128GB, while with 12 you have to go to mid-tier for that. Last year it wasn't that hard, both Pro and 11 starts at 64GB giving it a leveled playing field.

I don't understand EU pricing
For a same storage capacity, you pay +€200 premium for the 12 Pro vs 12 regular.

I don't see any rational to buy the Pro and I'm a tech enthusiast. I think 12 regular and 12 Pro max offer more for your buck.
If you really into photo, editing, video etc, the Pro Max is the way to go just because of it's 47% bigger sensor while the Pro is almost a 12 with just a telephoto.
If it was +€100 I would get it, but +€200 in France at same storage !!

One thing to mention : 12 regular is really lighter than 12 Pro. Something to keep in mind for those who thought their previous iPhone a bit too heavy !

So this year, I go happily for the non-pro, I am really surprised than Apple manage to make me happy with a non-pro model !
I will order in few hours a 12 Black 256 GB :)

For me, the additional RAM, the brighter display and the more versatile camera (Tele, Dolby Vision at 60fps, ProRAW) are well worth the 200€ premium, but I can see where you’re coming from. That being said, if you’re getting AC+ the difference is even bigger since it’s more expensive for the Pro models.
