There's still too many unknowns with the 12. And there's still too much in the air with respect to Apple's 2021 move away from Intel and Qualcomm. The 12 looks like bridging tech that may or may not be well supported. I may simply have the battery replaced in my original SE and take a pass.

I played with the fold 2 at Best Buy for 15 minutes. It’s cool. It’s neat. It’s innovative. But not for 2k. No way, no how. the crease down the middle in person wasn’t a big deal but Im skeptical how bad the crease will age. it’s thick when you fold it so I don’t know how practical it is for pockets. The note 20 ultra was sitting right next to it for 1299$. I’d buy that before I bought the fold. P.s the camera bumps, especially on the ultra, is comical. No way you can go caseless on either one
You can look at the year old fold 1 or z flip to see how well it held up. They look fine. Its no thicker than your typical wallet and if can pocket a wallet then it should be ok.

Don't think above factors matter for the most part. Need to think outside of the box. Let me introduce some new factors:

- Lots of disposable income / money to burn
- Credit limit not reached yet
- Stimulus check
- Ego
- Purpose of life / distraction (until the next shiny thing released by Apple)
- Just because, I can....
- Genuine need / broken phone (yeap, those people exist)

A f fingerprint reader. We’ll be in mask wearing mode easily for another year or two. I hate how my iPhone works like my iPhone anno 2007 now where I have to manually type in my PIN 100 times a day to unlock, as FaceID has become useless

I honestly think people are in for a major disappointment with the non pro models.

everyone thinks the mini is going to be some kind of bargain dream phone but I’m sure it’s not going to have a 1444p screen but a limp 1080p OLED.

I also think they’ll miss out on reverse wireless charging and slower faceID

the pro models need something to stand above the others or they’re pointless.

It will get supported as much as all the other devices.

As a ex Samsung user they come out the box on 1080p mode. Nothing wrong with a 1080p oled screen. Reverse wireless charging I’m not fussed by, I have wireless earphones that I charge with my iPad Pro usb c charger.

For me is about size and weight; since the iphone 8 I struggle with the weight and pocketability (8+, XR, 11, 11Pro...)

Now on the SE I´m OK, but I miss the full screen design and the OLED a little bit.

For me the 5,4 is the only one to look for; I don't care about 120 Mhz, 5G or triple cameras.

And of course, price... let's see what is coming.

Must have features of the device is what we’re discussing here, not of the potential owners. :D

I’m really not bothered if it comes with 1080p as that is plenty on a phone. Apple have never released a poor screen to date so I don’t think this year will be any different.

TouchID is fast now and the current FaceID is always touted as comparable so again on that point I’m not worried at all. I think it’ll be a great upgrade for most. I can’t comment on expectations for the Pro’s as they don’t interest me.
