It's big... bigger than my XS Max. But I am loving it. Also moving up from XS Max, the camera is just awesome. Maybe if I had an 11 PM I wouldn't have upgraded but this was a nice upgrade.

Keeper! :)

For those of you so far who’ve picked up a Max - are you keeping it? And if not why not? Personally, wasn’t sure at first but there is something very attractive about this “slate” like phone. And the display is amazing (if you don’t have the yellow issue). Nonetheless, there’s a 12 for everyone out there!
Keeping it! It is any day better than my iPhone 11 Pro Max. The weight distribution and one hand use seems to be better than 11 Pro Max.

I’ve had iPhones every year since the 4, skipping only the iPhone 8 series.

when apple switched to the rounded form factor on the 6, it’s a welcomed move back to the squared edges of the 4 for me, at least. Easier to hold when caseless.

I got the 12 Pro Max for the camera improvements, but actually love the large display and flat sides. No regret at all, it is my favourite iPhone ever!

For a yellow tint to screen, I initially had that with the X and adjusted colour balance using Accessibility, display, colour filter and those adjustments through backups have carried through to the new 12 Pro Max so it looks great. I note if I turn those off it does look yellow tinged just like the X. So anyone having that problem just adjust so screen is colour balanced as you wish.
This is brilliant, thank you! I never even knew those options were there, and I'd never have hit on the right combo on my own, but you just made me love my phone even more.

Haven't decided whether I'm keeping mine or not. Still haven't sent in my 11 Pro Max to T-Mobile as a trade in. I'll decide in a few days. To me the 11PM and the 12PM are for the most part the same phone. If 5G for more ready for prime time I'd keep it in a second. But that may be another 2 years away.

Day 3 and I like it more and more. It just grows on you.The only issue I have is lightning port. I just don't get why we still have it. Charging should be seamless throughout all their devices. I would love to use my USB-c to charge my phone.

It felt a little awkward to hold at first, but after using it a few days I've gotten used to it and really enjoying it. Loving the screen size increase compared to my 11 Pro Max. Camera improvements in low light use cases are definitely noticeable. Battery appears to be a bit better than the 11 Pro Max. I'll be keeping mine and using it alongside my Z Fold 2.
It’s a little better than an 11 Pro Max
But not in the category of a ‘must
Have’

I would also prefer USB-C so I could use same changing cable as my iPad Pro, but 98% of the time I charge using Qi charging anyway, so does not really worry me. With Magsafe I will probably dispense with carrying around a lightning cable at all.

I'm coming from a Pixel 4XL and so far (since last Friday at 18:30) I've been loving the Max.

Does it really boarderline on being too big. I have an 11 pro max and I feel like its the perfect size not to be or uncomfortable to use. How it this compared to the 11 pro max? Just curious.

It's barely taller, thinner, same width. The issue however is that some people find it to be too cumbersome now because the flat edges can make it feel much bigger now. Go handle it in person to see how you feel about it.

haha ur kidding right??

I also wish it were larger...and I've got small hands! I also wish Apple would give us split screen mode.

My 12PM has a yellow tinted screen with reduced contrast and brightness. My XS Max was much better in that regard. Also there seem to be some focus issues. Overall the build quality is great and the phone feels fantastic. I was hesitant to switch from rounded to straight edges, but I actually prefer the new design now.

Mine's a keeper. :) This is my first new phone since the 6s Plus that I got in 2015. I guess the large iPhones have gotten a bit smaller over the years, because the 12 Pro Max is almost exactly the same size as the 6s Plus. When I lay it on top of the 12 Pro Max, the 6s Plus completely covers it, except Pro Max is about 1/16 inch taller. The thickness is almost the same too, except for the camera lenses.

The squared sides do make the 12 Pro Max appear a bit larger though and when you turn them on, then the new phone looks much larger. Anyway, the size really isn't a problem, the 12 Pro Max fits my pocket and hand just the same as the old phone. I actually wouldn't have minded if the 12 Pro Max was a bit larger and was kind of surprised to find it the same as the old phone.

Love the camera, screen and fast processor on the Pro Max, but still not quite used to the lack of a home button and touch ID. I will adjust to that however.

I also wish it was a bit bigger. I don't know why people keep saying how massive it is. It's not that much bigger than previous Plus or Max models. It could still be a tad bigger. I have absolutely no problems holding it or using it with one hand.

It’s a little taller and wider than the 11 Pro Max. I had the 11PM and to me even though it’s wider and taller (slightly) it feels better in my hand than the 11PM to me. IMHO

Just upgraded from a 11pm. So far phone feels very similarly to me, maybe a little bit bigger cause of the flat edges? Honestly if I didn’t read the differences beforehand I probably would not have been able to tell you a difference. I still hold and operate the phone the same way I did with my 11. First thing I did notice was the improved brightness/colors the screen.

So far I’m enjoying the upgrade, the Redesign in gold looks very nice. I’m in the apple upgrade program, if you don’t need the latest and greatest, I would honestly wait till nexts years model. I’m sure the camera is great on this phone, but it’s not like the 11pm camera was bad either.

I was honestly worried about this phone being too big reading all the reviews, and was planning to get the 12 mini but changed my online order cart at the last second back to the max. So far I’m glad I didn’t cave in. I’m sure the mini feels great in the hand and is a great device for many, but for my usage the max suites best. If you’re used to big phones in the past, don’t let them fool you that this is that much bigger.
