Just wanted a thread for Pro Max users. I have been using an 11 Pro for the past year and miss the screen size. I did enjoy the portability of the 11 Pro but while I am aware that while the 12 Pro Max will take up more real estate, I believe it will be worth it. I am slightly concerned about the size because I usually carry it in my pocket. Looking to get the silicone case as well. Maybe get something thinner as time goes on. Anyone else going back to the larger size? Anyone want to speak to the trade-offs of "pocketability" vs screen real estate?

Yeah we def need a thread for our Pro Max!
I've always had the Plus/Max sized phones, and this year will be no different. I'm eagerly awaiting pre-order day for my Pro Max.
⬆️ Exactly this! Plus I have a 3 and 5 year old that watch movies on car rides that I have mounted to my dash. Any bit of extra real estate is a plus! And really, it’s not much bigger then the 11 pro max I’ve been using and Plus/Max sizes all along. Damn 11/6 can not get here soon enough!!
Edit: 12 Pro Max in 512GB Graphite to match my Graphite SS AW6!

I’m really hoping that not too many go for the silver so that I can score a 256 and pickup in-store on launch day. Even though I have small hands, I’ve had the max versions since first introduced and I love the larger screen. Getting old sucks when your eyesight starts to go and you need new strongear prescriptions with every checkup.

Used an 11 pro max then got the regular 12, used it for the weekend and oh my how i missed the big screen, restored my promax and sent 12 back, just waiting for preorder day now, Gonna go 12 pro max 128GB graphite!

I’m going for my first Max this time. My friend has the 11 Max and let me carry it in my pocket. It seemed fine. I figure if my jeans are too tight for my iPhone I probably shouldn’t be wearing those jeans. Going Silver 512GB Max. Wish they would offer 1TB. I take a lot of photos and videos.

I mentioned this in another thread but I'll repeat it here. Coming from an XS Max for almost 2 years I thought I wanted to go smaller and went for the 12 Pro. While I do love that its easier to hold and pocket than the Max was I really miss the screen size. Everything just feels so cramped on the 12 especially typing. I'm sure I'll get used to it over time but I'm going to be returning this and pre-ordering the 12 Pro Max 128gb Pacific Blue. My preorder for the 12Pro went smooth and got it on launch day so I hope i have the same luck on Nov 6th

Can't wait to return to the Max. Had the 6s Plus, the 8 Plus, the Xs Max and now the 11 Pro, which is nice and handy, but that's about it. I hate typing on the small keyboard, especially in apps that don't allow for the horizontal keyboard.
Will probably get the 256 in Gold.
Exactly. Time to go big again. I don’t use an iPad. So for me this is the “do it all device”. I have tried many times to get into the iPad world but for my purposes it is unnecessary. A larger phone fits both needs. I am willing to sacrifice a bit of weight to only have one device.

I upgrade phones every year but this year It’s a tough decision for me. I love the battery in my iPhone 11 Pro Max and I’m very concerned with losing an hour plus of battery life. I’m sure I’ll end up purchasing the new phone but this is the first time I’m debating upgrading.

Exactly in the same boat. Generally, I upgrade every year regardless of the minor year over year improvements but this is the first year it might be a downgrade in terms of battery life.

I am torn. I have enjoyed the larger screen real estate since the plus option became available with the 6 series. I chose the 8 Plus over the X due to the screen ratio of the X compared to the 8 Plus. Then, I found I couldn't use the XS Max or 11 Pro Max due to PWM eye strain (entirely different story). So, I was 8 Plus until 2 months ago when I finally moved to the regular 11.

Now that I am used to the smaller size and weight of the 11, I am torn on moving to the 12 Pro Max (if my eyes can tolerate it). I don't bother with tablets, and I rarely ever dust off my MacBook, so having the largest screen is nice since I use my phone for 99% of my needs. Also, the Pro Max will have the best camera available as far as iPhones go and that is very important to me. I am very tall, so putting the Max in my pockets is not an issue nor is using it one handed. Where I think the size will be a compromise are a) phone won't fit in my cupholders b) will really weigh down my gym shorts when I am out doing yard work c) same issue when I go for walks with the dog or just exercise in general.

The only thing I do know is that I have zero interest in the mini, the regular 12, or 12 Pro. If I make a move from my 11, it would be to the Max and I would just get used to having a larger, heavier phone again.

Get bigger cup holders.

I'm planning on getting the 12 Pro Max and trying it out. If the battery lasts as long as the 11 Pro Max I'll keep it. If not I won't.

Sending the MG 11 Pro Max 64GB back to Apple. Pre ordering 12PM 128 GB. Now I’m torn between color to get...either gold or graphite. BTW same spigen case I use on my 11PM already received from spigen same case for 12PM. Overall size of case isn’t such a huge drastic differences. Barely any. I will enjoy the extra 2” of display. 12PM case fits nicely in my pockets. SUV cup holders. In my hands. I’m good. I’m ready. Yes I’m under Apple UP.

In two minds what storage to go for.. Was going for 128gb but with hdr video I'm thinking if that's enough

Will be getting the blue though

Was on the fence with the 12P and the 12PM, but coming from the X I figure the 12PM will give me a nice change of screen real estate. My only decision now is which color Silver or Graphite.

This was my challenge. Ended choosing graphite because currently have silver. Can’t go wrong with either. I honestly love how the silver contrasted better with cases with the white around camera.

Same here. I've always used Max size phones, but last year I went for an 11 Pro. I loved how easy it was to carry in my pant pockets during the summer months. But that advantage was definitely overshadowed by all the times I played games, watched movies/series or did any extensive reading or editing of documents...I'd just feel that I was missing out. I have an iPad Pro 12" and I kinda figured I'd be using that more at home, and the 11 Pro on the go. But it's just so much more comfortable a lot of the time to just use the phone, even at home. So, back to a Max it is!

I've considered going with a really huge Android phone instead, and pairing it with a cheap and small iPhone like a SE2020 for truly mobile duty. But in the end I realised it'd probably be a PITA to handle two phones, not to mention paying for double sim, and constantly fiddling with hotspots etc. So I'm extra glad that the iPhone Pro Max is even bigger this year - the bigger screen sizes is part of why I've been tempted by those massive Androids.

Come next summer though, I might still spring for a SE2020 when they've hopefully dropped a bit more in price, for pocket use when I'm more outdoors, on the beach etc. The beach scenario is actually why I downsized last year. Last summer I'd be on the beach with my trusty 7 Max and it'd just feel so unwieldy, and there was so much screen real estate to grind all those tiny evil grains of sand against... That's when I'd rather have a small phone in my pocket, rather than a big, shiny 12 Pro Max. But having it be cheap is also a big advantage in that scenario, so I think the Max + SE will be a better solution than trying to solve everything with a mid size phone again.

And thanks for making the poll, I had actually come here to make one when I found yours! :D Just to get some advance info on the most popular configuration, so I can avoid that on launch day. Of course the current most popular choices correspond exactly to what I was planning to order...128 GB in Graphite or Blue. So I might bump it up to 256 just to avoid having to wait another month for delivery.

I have an 11PM and tried the 12 pro...... I really liked it but the battery life was very sub par compared to the 11PM and missed the screen size although that wasn't the deal breaker. I am on the fence of either keeping my 11PM or ordering the 12PM right now but leaning towards that later. sucks lugging the big phone around but I really like the battery life.

Setting my alarm clock for 5am PST that morning for a 256GB Pacific Blue as well. The 7 Plus has served me well, but it’s time to move on...
