It looks like beige/very creamy to me, its really starlight?
It’s hard to capture the color in a picture. It changes depending on the light. In person, it definitely doesn’t look beige or creamy. Definitely a shade of “white”. Like when you go into a paint store….all of the shades of white (ie Dove White, doctor’s office antiseptic white 😊, etc…). The back looks white in most light (not beige or cream). The sides are definitely a light champagne.

I’m curious to get into an Apple store and see the “blue” too. It’s another color that looks different in most pics/videos I see. On Apples website it looks more “teal”…which I’m not a fan of. However, on several videos, it looks like a nicer (to my eye) shade of blue.

It’s not, it’s a very dark blue and it depends on the lighting, I tried to take a picture of mine right now but it’s a dark, rainy and cloudy day and none of the lights in my house are doing justice, yesterday when I opened it and looked at it in a sunny room, it looked very blue.

Start at the 1:20 minute mark of this video, I watched so many videos to try to see the colour before it released and this was the one that showed off the true colour under a bright natural light the best now that I’ve seen it in person.
I’m disappointed to be honest, because on the website and everything apple showed off didn’t look even remotely blue, even if you hex colorcode the phone on their website, it shows no hint of blue. I kind of wish I went with the white, but oh well.
Any idea what that is around 1:37? An iPhone skin or custom shell or something? Looks rad!

Interesting, never heard that before. Is it a huge difference? Want the starlight caseless but might go midnight then since the starlight mini is hard to find in stock anyway.
I wouldn't call it a huge difference but I definitely notice it. I had a white 12 mini all last year and I just wasn't in love with it like I hoped I would be. I was trying to figure out why when I ended up looking at the rest of the 12 colors and that's when I noticed the black color was noticeably more grippy. I bought a black 12 mini and tried it out for a few weeks and to me it was a noticeable change. I felt much more confident and comfortable using it caseless than my white 12 mini. As someone who hates using a case even a small difference is worth it to me.

FWIW I went through something similar a while back with the X and XS. I liked the look of the silver color best, but it was by far the most slippery. Turns out it's because of way the other stainless colors are made. They have some kind of outer layer that makes them more sticky (and way more resistant to scratches). So I was using a gold XS and then 11 pro as a result. I haven't had a chance to try to try the new 12/13 pros but I imagine it's the same thing.

Thanks, it same for 12 Mini white last year, during daylight, it looks like a pure white but definetelly lesser white than my SE 2016 in silver/white for example
Under dimmed light, it turns into creamy
Here is mine (12 Mini White), its definitely too warm for my taste
I hope next year, Apple would reintroduce pure white/black again
For now, i am not considering to switch from 12 Mini to 13 Mini unless they improve battery life by far (no valuable reason to switch imo)

But then the bezel looks thick. 👀

Seriously? Another bezel mom/cry - if you stop looking at the bezels and look what’s ON the screen itself you’ll enjoy the content of what’s viewable. Nobody ain’t seeing anything staring at the bezels themselves.

no difference from WINCE portable computing devices to Nokia S60, UIQ or Windows Smartphone edition to now. Thin or not absolutely no info is IN the bezel itself.

No there is nothing. To it. I have the 12 mini blue it grips really good without the case because all 12/13 series are anodized, non polished aluminum. White probably isn’t anodized at all on the 12 series but 13 mini and 13 regular seem to be. Not 100% sure though of the latter series.

The battery has improved quite a bit. Also, last years white color is more beige than this years starlight. Someone posted comparison pictures on this forum.

I can’t decide between pink, red and blue. I may even like the black if it’s a pure deep black and not blue-black or with a hint of some other color.

I’m not trading my green mini anytime soon, though, so I hope to be able to see them in person and make my mind up that way, this time.

I’m keeping my purple 12 mini. That’s the best color to me and I’m disappointed they didn’t keep it in the lineup. I love my green, too.

The blue looked amazing in their presentation but the renders on their store site look very different and not to my tastes.
So your keeping your green mini, your purple mini, and your buying a 3rd mini? Hmmm

No. I’m keeping the purple mini. It was a gift. I’m trading the green mini eventually for a 13 mini because I like the mini size the best and Apple supposedly isn’t making any more of them. At the end of all this, I’ll still have two minis. A purple 12 mini and a 13 mini.

My company had Friday off so I went to the Apple store to get measured for the solo loop and see the iPhone colors in person and feel the weight of the Pro phones. I like the Starlight color. Milky and creamy are the words that come to mind when I look at the color. Starlight came back in stock in my city, so that’s the one I reserved. I reserved for Tuesday, but I can’t pick it up until Saturday, so I hope the Apple Store meant what they said when they said they’ll hold it for 14 days. I also decided to do the in store trade in, but I actually want to trade it in a couple of days later just to make sure nothing is wrong with the 13.

I do wish they had released a purple phone. That washed out pink could have been saved for Spring. A purple iPhone matching the iPad mini would have been nice, but I guess it wasn’t meant to be for me to own a purple iPhone.

Yeah I am waiting for spring to trade my green mini in. Part of that is to wait for spring colors, hoping for another purple, and part of that is to see if there are more solid rumors confirming with more certainty that there will be no more mini iPhones in the next generation. Because I’d really rather not buy another mini while my purple 12 mini is still so solid and new. In an ideal world I’d be waiting for the 14 mini, instead.

Pink would have been a good spring color choice because that’s cherry blossom season in Japan and part of the US that have cherry trees. (I have some in my yard).

I never understood why Apple doesn’t offer some consistency in its colors across different product lines. Even the space grey wasn’t always the same color, not even close, across iPads, laptops, watches, phones.

Apple is as much a lifestyle brand as it is a technology company, so you’d think they’d put a little more attention to that kind of detail. I thought if they’re doing a purple mini then surely they’re making a purple iPhone to go with it. But nope. I’m sorry you’re not getting the color you prefer.

Ideally I would like to wait for Spring to see what color they offered, but my 12 Pro really does make my wrist hurt. I was almost tempted to trade in my phone last Spring but there was no trade in values yet for the current 12 line. Also, they dropped the color so late, that I was like, might as well wait until September.

I think the Spring color this year may be a green. They made a green watch, but have no other green tech.

Ouch! Yeah last year my 12 Pro hurt my wrist and gave me nerve pain because I started off using my pinky finger as a brace at the bottom. Oddly, trading to the 12 Pro max broke me of that habit and got rid of the pain. The weight was better distributed on the 12 Pro max which also helped with the wrist strain. This year it’s all completely different. But the pro lineup remains really heavy. I got a 13 Pro for a lot of general uses, but with elderly parents needing emergency help sometimes and kids in school, I am needing to always be available. So the phone I can actually wear ON me at all times in pockets is the mini. If Apple could make a Pro mini I would probably love that. But it would probably be like me, short and stocky. 😆 (I keep losing the weight in the summer, but every autumn it finds me!)

I've not decided between 13 and 13 Pro yet but if it's the 13 it'll be black and if it's the Pro I might go for graphite.
(Love the blue though).

I use my pinky as a brace too. It’s really a hard habit to brake. The mini is soo a cute. I was tempted to get it, but I wanted something slightly bigger. Wish I could buy it for my mom and my aunties because they like small phones - they all have the SE’s, but I feel Face ID would be too much of a struggle for them; just getting them to learn to use Touch ID was. I’ll probably pick one up next year when it hits the refurb store. A mini pro would be nice, but they will have to increase the size for that which probably would take it out the mini category.

Well, I know this sounds a lot like first world problems but, I am really undecided. I like the Starlight, the Product(RED), and maybe the blue? And because I cannot decide, I’ll probably go with the safest option: Midnight (which looks like black when I’ve seen it in person).

Last year’s silver was gorgeous, and I was more or less decided to get Starlight. However, I don’t want a gold or champagne iPhone, I’ve never liked gold. And although this seems more like a warm silver aluminum, I honestly am not sure.

The red one, is gorgeous, however, I’m afraid I will get tired of that color sooner than later. Also, the aluminum bezel on the red and the blue ones looks pretty ugly on the front when facing the screen. But I’m gonna use it with a case so... it doesn’t really matter?

The midnight is a safe bet. I’ve always had grey or space grey phones, so... this year I really wanted to jump to the white one, or even the red one. But I lack the courage. Ive, give me courage

PS: Another reason to go with the Midnight would be, when on the case, it doesn’t show off the diagonally placed cameras so people won’t know I am using the latest and more expensive iPhone 13 mini. Also if I want to take a discreet shot in the street or in a shop, on the mini the cameras are less noticeable, you just have a black block that just might be your smartphone. On the white and red, the two cameras pop off a lot.

PS2: If I have some important event, the midnight is the sleekest of them.

You are overthinking. It is a phone. You will have a case on most of the time. It isn’t a fashion statement it is a tool. Make a decision, place an order, enjoy the phone.

This entire website is first world problems. You’re spending money on a device you may keep for over 2 years and liking the color is part of the selection. If it wasn’t then Apple wouldn’t offer a color selection at all.

You do realize that I’m replying to someone who is bothered by light-coloured aluminium edges because they don’t match the bezel, right? 🤷🏻‍♂️

That has no effect on phone use either when you’re actually staring at the screen.

Neither does the iPhone’s colour in general, and yet we have choices.

Went for Midnight for my 13 Mini which is not noticeably different to 'Black' from last year.

Like the look of this year's Blue and Starlight. Would have been happy with either of those colours too.

Uhm, I think the key here is that this iPhone will be my smartphone for the next 5, 6 maybe even more years. Because this is the last mini iPhone. That’s why I’m overthinking it. But, like @Apple_Robert said, I’m gonna put a case on it, probably not transparent, so it shouldn’t be a big deal. But still... lol

I do agree, silver is typical color that defines Apple devices such as first Macbook Air or Powerbook
But its neutral color, its pretty ''cold'' and to be honest way too understated to be appreciated
I also agree Gold isnt for me because for me Gold = shiny, money and so on
In my opinion, Apple tend to favor space grey over silver because its more popular color than silver (and most of Apple men users do prefer space grey over silver)
This year, there are too many goldish tint among all color versions, iPhone 13 Pro Gold, iPhone 13 Pink, iPhone 13 Starlight...
Yes Starlight become more gold/white than silver/white as usual, it appears warmer, white/silver iPhone appear to be too cold imo

I do believe Apple made different colors on their device by purpose, every recent year, there are new color and people talk about it: last year blue pacific, midnight, starlight, night green
Look at those iMac M1 color versions!
Thats Apple now, more fashion stuff, its being a selling argument!
If people are overthinking, its not their fault, its Apple releasing new colors on purpose!
